Some of my favorite minis are the old Rogue Trader era metals. The first Space Marine I picked up around 1991 was a Marine in Thunder Armour along with a Crusade Armour marine- see below. I've always liked the John Blanche artwork for the Unification Wars depicting these hulking proto-marines. With those images in mind I started to put together something that could do them justice...

These prints are done at 30micron resolution from a B9 Creator. The design is based on the old Crusade Armour Bolter with some modifications.
I'm relatively new to the plastic ranges but love the conversion potential they provide.

An interesting start. It will be fun to see what the final product looks like.

Though I wonder if the heavy use of GK parts makes him look too polished for Thunder Armor.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

Agreed, I'm currently cutting back on that Grey Knight Armour and there will be a lot of sculpting. The pauldrons will be printed along with a new backpack.

Really neat doing an Unification Wars army. Interesting on the kitbash to make the Thunder Armor. Looking forward to more.

Not sure if I can get through an army but a Kill Team might be interesting or maybe just a few variants. I've yet to have a real 40k game. Cheers.

Well even just a Kill Team would be great to behold.

While I work on the chainmail and the pauldrons here is an Abhuman work-in-progress, a beastman conscripted into service for the Emperor.

Malika2, those figures are very well done- a lot more 'barbarian' than I imagined but look great.
