Ok at my local venue we only have 6 diehard STAW players and 4-7 occasional players. So I'm not trying to brag, but ive won every OP so far and a few people are a little whiny about it. I've come up with a different fleet each time since DW month 4 and never played Borg. So, I want to try something that could win but if it doesn't it will at least it will raise some eyebrows.

Bajorian Interceptor fleet

Interceptor 5
Keria Nerys Skill 5
Day Kannu

Interceptor
Hazar
Blockade
Phaser Strike

Interceptor
Phaser Strike

Interceptor
Phaser Strike

90 points

Idea is to get in fast and close prefere range 1, get TL and Blockade going for 2 skill 10 str 5 phaser strikes and then follow up Hazar and Nerys if they live

No bloody clue how effective it will be, but I love it and admire you for taking it.

I think 1-2 cloaked mines would ruin your day.

Having 4 ships is good, but you are only throwing 2 attack dice. You can discard Blockade of course, then each interceptor will be throwing 3 attack dice... except for the one that spent the action for the Blockade, and possibly Kira Nerys ship.

At best, you will get 4 attack dice per ship at range 1 (for a total of 16 attack dice) BUT it will be 4 attack dice per ship, and I'll get all my defense dice against them. I'll also have my full shields and hull for you to chew through. Meanwhile, my return fire will kill at least one of your ships a turn. You'll have to spend your actions at range two and three for evade dice, or when you pop Kira Nerys ability at Range three for a free target lock... that's when I would kill her ship. 4 evade dice on a 3 hull ship is not enough when I will be throwing 5-6 dice with conversions at you.

Then of course, there will be cloaked ships for you to worry about where you won't be able to target lock, and they will have 5-6 evade dice against your 2-3 attack dice(4 on one turn, maybe).

I mean, eh. Your meta could be completely different from mine. In mine, there is always 2-3 Romulan players, and 2-3 Klingon players rolling with mines and lots of ways to ignore/reduce damage or convert hits. We've also started to see some ganking going on- stealing tech/weapons or disabling them (Jennifer Sisko is Teh Devel!).

This build has a pretty good alpha strike ability at range one, but I really don't think you will make it into range one with more then 2-3 ships. Your maneuverability will be king after the initial joust, but against a player with a 360 arc, will mean pretty much nothing (been seeing that a lot lately- it's a bit of a trend). I'd play with this list for fun, but I don't think I'd take it in an OP.

Be sure to come back and tell us how you did!

I'm not really risking anything. The only way for me to lose the RIF grand prize would be to get 0 points in 2 out of 3 rounds in RIF3. All I need to do is pop the blind, and to be honest I don't really want the grand prize.

My local Meta doesn't have borg players, and there has been a Marque player doing very well.
