So basically I have this concept
This is my first major conversion...

I was Inspired by the the notion of a love child between a razor-don and a Tyranid warrior... I mean how cool would that be. I'm a massive fan of both miniatures. This is intended as a playable piece for a nid army I will never actualy make... but might have this "pet" in an unbound list or something

Anyhow...
I haven't quite got the name down as you can see, as I do not actualy play Tyranids. So I have no idea what to call this "thing" I am making. All I know its going to be a bad ass mofo.
(feel free to suggest names as "Razoedon-hive-warrior-scorpion love child" just doesn't quite roll off the tongue) Razowariodon... ?

So the parts I have blew a bit of dough:


Hive tyrant tail bit, some rending claws, carapace from a trygon or something , and some warrior heads.

And now this is the very very early prototype held together by blue-tac sprue and wires lol

Drum rol......




Now - As I do not play tyranids and I am not familiar with the new model ranges.
I do not know what parts I could use for legs (non reverse join) and the torso/ribcage, sugest would be much appreciated.
I want him to be quite chesty and butch thining down towards the back...


I am thinking of purchasing a set of warriors from the baal set as they are flooding ebay atm... But think the chest piece might be too small?
Also any tips on what to use for the tail ? I could greenstuff it but I like to use as many orignial parts as possible

That is looking really good so far! Reminds me of the xenomorph from the alien series, which is awesome! Off the bat, I'm not sure about the tip of the tail. I think one point like a scorpion would look more natural. If you want something less sleak and more intimidating maybe a club like an ankylosaurus? As for chest parts, if you want a big chunky chest, you could probably do something with the mawloc?

Yeah that tail-end is just a stand in for now to show the dynamic

Also does anyone have some gaunt scyhing talons.. (smallish ones) ? I cant seem to fin any :(

Actually, saying that, I've probably got some spare warrior bodies and legs too that I'll throw in. I'll have to dig the tyranid stuff out.

Any tips on suitable parts for legs and torso ? I'm worried the warrior ones will be to small and I am not familiar with the other models. I might go down to GW at lunch tomorrow and see if they let me look at some Yeah that be the day..

I have no idea, looking at the Nid range, everything's either too small or too big. I'll send you some warrior bits and hopefully you can put together something suitable. Seems a shame to buy a whole kit just for the torso!
