Hi guys

We have an upcoming tournament at 1200 points with a few restrictions
1 CAD
No model over 160 points (Tyranids are allowed to have 1 over 160pts)
No flyers
1 Flying MC allowed
No formations
Flyrants are Banned for Tyranids.

So what kind of list would you make with these restrictions for tyranids ?

Can you use Formations? No Winged Tyrant is brutal, but not too horrible.

Pfft. those are some lame as restrictions. Where is the Wave Serpent ban, AnniBarge? VenomSpam? That's horribly skewed for a vehicle meta (can't even see Daemons having fun).

That said, I would probably run:

Tervigon w/ Crushing Claws, EGrubs = 220

Rippers x3 w/ DS = 45
Hormagaunts x10 = 50

Venomthrope = 45
Zoanthrope = 50
Zoanthrope = 50

2x Carnifex w/ 2x TL Devourers w/ Brainleech Worms = 300
2x Carnifex w/ 2x TL Devourers w/ Brainleech Worms = 300
Mawloc = 140

Gives you five WC and three chances to get Onslaught for the Carnifexes as well as a BugStar unit (Hormagaunts provide cover save for Carnifexes with Venomthrope attached). You can also create more units through the Tervigon and potentially tarpit, or roadblock something.

48 TL S6 shots is nothing to scoff at.

It also fits in with the restrictions, those Carnifexes are only 150 each.

That is very close to the list i have created. Indeed it is a harsh ban to play without flyrants.
There is 2 more limitations on the tournament
Only 1 Waveserpent
And Broadsides cant take missiles
