Im not speaking fluff wise, but with taus guns and weapons and tyrannies melee. I'm still new to 40k so please give advice if it will help

If anything, Tyranids and Tau don't provide a lot of synergy. Tyranids these days are better as a close range shooty army (18 inch range).

A better ally for Tau would be Orks who can provide CC elements.

Saw your other thread and quite frankly, Tyranids don't need allies to be competitive. I have seen them ally with Tzeentch Daemons for easy troops summoning which worked well.

Its got really good synergy, assures air dominance, and punishes deathstars by covering the table in more targets than they can hit or feasibly deal with. It can soak up most alpha strikes. It has psychic support vs deamon armies. All while maintaining a good balance of hard hitting units and useful obsec.
