Nazis played a pretty big role in WWII. Pretending like they never existed is ridiculously disingenuous.

Well, someone had to do it.

It really bothers me that they used skeletons for ALL of the inmates. I mean...wouldn't it have made more sense to use little prisoner black and white striped lego people instead?

Those aren't a real Lego product, they are an artistic piece made by a Polish artist named Zbigniew Libera. In fact, when Lego heard of it, they sued him.

I know, I read the link.

Skeletons were used because the represent the starved bodies of the CC victims.

Yeah, I think it has the opposite effect though. Take zombies for example - most people look at zombies on The Walking Dead and laugh because they're so far from human. They aren't nearly as frightening as the zombies in the beginning scenes of the Dawn of the Dead remake (with Ving Rhames) or 28 Days Later because they're so far from human in their appearance and behaviors.

When you move away from human, you lose a lot of the impact IMO. I would disagree with the artist's choice to use skeletons...I think it misses the point that human suffering is awful because it's human suffering, not just skeleton suffering.
