So, I got a Tablewar case for Christmas, and I play orks. I'm planning on basing (and rebasing) my Ork Nobs on 32mm bases, as I think it looks better, and it makes them stand out a bit from the Boys without being as big as Meganobs on 40mm bases.

Unfortunately, Tablewar currently has no plans to produce washers for their tray basing system with a 32mm interior diameter.

I can find washers with a 32mm interior diameter, but they are high strength metal washers and run about $17 each. I can find TONS of 32mm outer diameter washers in a variety of materials, but I'm not finding them in a 32mm inner diameter. I can also find all sorts of washers where they don't TELL you the interior diameter, but that's a crapshoot.

Anyone have a good suggestion of where to source these?

What are the actual dimensions you want. 32mm ID - what for the OD?

If you want 32/40 - take a look at 1 1/4" Schedule 80 PVC pipe. The ID will be really close to 32mm (+/- 0.2mm). The OD will be 42.5mm. You can quickly sand off the 2.5mm from that (chuck it on a drill and loop a bit of sand paper over it...). Once sized, slice it into whatever thickness you need (cuts easily enough by hand...bandsaw will make it go very fast).

Should also be able to find something like a 32mm nylon bushing without much difficulty or a thrust bearing. Take a look at McMaster-Carr. You can search through their stuff by ID/OD and since you know your budget/tools you will be better placed to figure out what will work best.

Actually, the outer diameter doesn't matter too much at all (less is better, but not essential). The washers are just there to maintain a space for the bases when the rest of the tray is filled and textured. Too wide and I will have fewer models fitting, but as it's largely for the Nobs in the squads, it shouldn't matter too much.

I will check out McMaster-Carr. Thanks for the suggestion.

I thought that I might have to go with cutting up PVC pipe, and wasn't looking forward to it. It's not a problem, but Tablewar has their washers for 10-12 for $1.50, so I hated to spend too much time and money for my own modeling weirdness.

In that case - you might consider the 1 1/4" or 1 5/16" fiber washers:

The 1 1/4" are pretty thin - but it glues up well. The 1 5/16" are probably about the right thickness already. The larger will be about a mm oversized - the smaller about 0.25 mm under sized. The fiber washers are pretty easy to sand down to make up the difference.

Price still is a bit higher than the $1.50 for 10 - but you should be able to glue up 4 or 5 of the thin washers for the needed thickness and get them for around $10 for 10.
