Can a cadre fireblade's volley fire apply to Longshot Pulse Rifles. Are they considered a type of Pulse Rifle?

A Longshot Pulse Rifle is not a Pulse Rifle in the same way that a Heavy Bolter or Stormbolter is not a Bolter. Different weapon name & different profile = different weapon entirely.

The ethereal's "storm of fire" ability does affect them though, since they are pulse weapons.

Yep. That's what I'm figuring. Was preferring the idea of adding a shot at ALL ranges and giving up one less VP at the end of the game. Ah well. Still think these guys in a bunker with an ethereal will be pretty great TBH

Unfortunately, no.

Page 156, last paragraph under "a Compendium of Special Rules" : Unless specifically stated, a model cannot gain the benefit of a special rule more than once.

Volley Fire does not specifically state that models can benefit from it multiple times.
