I have been playing as and painting marines and grey knights for a while. I like their play style but Ijust need to play as something else for a while. Please help.

Harlequins.

I'm in a similar boat of looking for my next painting project, most of my armies are incredibly grimdark in scheme. Something bright and obnoxious like harlequins is going to be a fantastic change of pace.

If you amuse yourself with natural colours, mimetics, ... Astra Militarum could be the answer.
In order to completely change point of view I agree with the Arlequins idea.

Daemons. You can do literally all colors and schemes, even 4 in the same (one for each god)

I would say start working on some Knights. You can do them either as a Knight Household or as Freeblades. Either way, you can go with bright colors if you want.
