Hey guys,

I need some input on whether or not to add another ship or keep the missiles in my current list. Here are the two lists below. Please vote or comment and let me know.

Here is the current list (A):

B-Wing (Farlander) - Adv. Sensors, VI
Z-95 (Blount) - Ion Pulse Missiles
Z-95 (Bandit) - Ion Pules Missiles
Z-95 (Bandit) - Cluster Missiles
Z-95 (Bandit) - Cluster Missiles

Without Missiles (B):
B-Wing (Farlander) - Adv. Sensors, VI
Z-95 (Cracken)
Z-95 (Bandit)
Z-95 (Bandit)
Z-95 (Bandit)
Z-95 (Bandit)

I just don't like Missles on low PS ships, especially 4hp Z95's. The problems are a) is you have to move and target lock first, this means you can't focus to assist in not being shot up before you can fire, b) the other player can see exactly what your set up is and do their best to avoid you with boosts and barrel rolls and/or piling in on one ship before it gets to fire. Having a swarm of ships helps a bit but the missile list is still carrying another ships worth of points in ordanance that may do nothing.

The second list looks okay but I'd rather pair Etahn A'baht with a swarm of either Bandits or Tala's (or a mix) depending on how much you upgrade Etahn as the crit ability is so good (and depressingly lethal against the VT49)

Why VI on Farlander? He screams that he wants PTL as much as Baron Fel does.

I like VI on him in combination with his "focus" using stress token. Pair that up the Adv. Sensors and I either target lock or Barrel roll before a K-turn to get him stressed. Allows him to shoot before most ships and still be re-rolling with TL and spending stress to pump his focus rolls.

PTL is nice, but I like VI and Adv. Sensor combo more.

But what if your opponent is in front of you?

What about something along these lines? Sort of a mash up of both....

B-Wing (Farlander) - Adv. Sensors
Z-95 (Blount) - Ion Missiles
Z-95 (Bandit)
Z-95 (Bandit)
Z-95 (Bandit)
Z-95 (Bandit)

Farlander loses VI, but Blount auto Ionizes a large ship.

Thoughts?

lol, fair point, but you're most likely not doing a k-turn then....straight 4 is a red for b-wings so there is that and you can save the stress by doing white maneuvers if you must.

This version. Missiles in general are a questionable investment, and PS 2 ships often struggle to get target locks on the right ship and get their missiles launched before they die. The main change I'd make is drop Cracken (he doesn't really have anyone to boost) to a basic z-95 and get a passenger for Farlander. 4 points gets you C-3P0, and 5 gets you Chewbacca. Either one will keep him alive longer, which is important when he's the obvious priority target. In fact, I might even trade a pair of bandits for Biggs to protect him. So you'd have this:

Farlander + AS + VI + Chewbacca (38)
Biggs (25)
Bandit (12)
Bandit (12)
Bandit (12)

Total of 99 points, so you can upgrade a bandit to a tala or just keep a 1-point initiative bid. Keep Biggs at the back to force range-3 shots whenever possible, put the bandits up front as meatshields and easy damage that your opponent can't engage easily until Biggs dies.

VI because it's a high-PS metagame and Farlander's PS 7 isn't really good enough. And you don't need PTL for stress because you've got so many red maneuvers on the dial.

I think this is the better of the lists, though Farlander costs 38 because the B-Wing Crew allowing card is a 1 point modification, not a free title.

Oops, you're right, I was thinking of the C-3P0 option when I wrote 37. Post edited.
