This game had some experimental factors but yeah, to answer some specifics...
Filch: Well, the Defiler is heavily converted, but no one had problems with it. In some ways it's a bit harder to use, but the flamer was easier
SweaterKittens: The turns were handled more like
40k epic but with some adjustments. Using a set of rules that are still in development, the three players got to shoot 'simultaneously'. Ultimately, we:
1) Moved in a single turn (taking it in turns moving a unit at a time)
2) Shot at the same time (casualties yet to shoot were left on their side)
3) Charged at the same time (models with highest Initiative got to charge first)
The game went quicker than a conventional game.

Yep, it took a bit of using the ol' noggin to try and get this to work. Three player is much harder than 4,
IMO. I wonder if I'll do 5 player sometime?! O_o
