Hey guys,

I was curious as to the communities general thoughts on running a dual 2400 list. Something along the lines of this (using S&V cannons):

Leebo
Experimental Interface
Lando
Mangler Cannon

Dash
PTL
Kyle Katarn
Outrider
Engine Upgrade
Mangler Cannon

I feel Lebos mediocre PS will be mitigated by Lando and his ability to pick the better of two damage cards. Eperimental will allow him to use Lando's Action for free.

Dash is Dash of course but you lose the Range 1 blind zone.

Thoughts?

This is not a very good list. Dash is a pretty standard setup, and a valid tradeoff of lower damage vs. no donut hole, but Leebo is just bad. You've essentially built a YT-1300 that only gets two attack dice outside of its primary arc and has a terrible dial because of the need to clear stress every turn. Meanwhile your Lando/EI combo doesn't help much because the low firepower makes it easy to focus on Dash and ignore Leebo until endgame, when a 2-attack ship with lots of defense has little hope of winning. Dash with support can be a very strong list, but you need support that helps with Dash's weaknesses. Consider what Dash + mangler does well, and what he struggles against:

Good:
+ Low-PS non-swarm ships that he can fly circles around with his maneuvering actions
+ Ships with lots of hull that are vulnerable to crits.

Bad:
+ Tank ships (Corran, Fel, Whisper, YT-1300 + droids, etc) that a 3-dice gun has little chance of damaging.
+ Swarms that can shut down your maneuvering options and overwhelm Dash with tons of red dice.

So this makes it pretty clear what your support needs to do: you need good damage output to break through the tank ships and take swarms off the table ASAP. That probably means some cheaper generics to add efficient red dice. For example, two bandits and a rookie are the same 45 points as Leebo and will almost always be better at covering Dash's weaknesses.

(Also, EI + Lando is pointless in this situation. PTL gives you the same extra action, but allows it to be any action, including the ones on your action bar, instead of just Lando. And since it's the same point cost as EI and you aren't using your EPT slot it's the obvious thing to do. But this minor issue doesn't change the substance of the previous analysis.)

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Yeah the nature of the YT-2400 and the Outrider title means that double named pilots aren't going to work very well. I seen someone run three Fringers which worked ok, but Leebo without something to buff his attack and/or mobility isn't going to get much done. You can get away with not taking the Outrider title if you have PtL and Engine Upgrade for example because you can keep things in arc (and up close if needed), but otherwise a 40+ point ship with 2 attack is just bad news. If you want to run two big ships then a YT-1300 and a YT-2400 are probably a better idea (or just two YT-1300s) - you probably can't fully load up Dash though, you want to be closer to 50pts per ship.

Darn, thanks guys. Was really trying to make it work...totally forgot that outrider allows the 360 cannon. The mangler makes no sense on Leebo, nor is he really any good lol.

Triple Z's will be the way to go or perhaps a Chewbacca/C-3PO YT-1300?

When you post a list here, be prepared for some 'harsh' criticism. While the two posters brought up very valid points, I would say "What's your meta like? Do you see a lot of Fat Hans (YT-1300 with Han and C3-PO)/tank ships? Do you see a lot of swarm builds? Are you say, planning on going to Gencon and playing in the big tournament?"

At the very least, I'd play your list a couple times before writing it off as a "bad list". You might want to optimize it a bit, but really, play what you want and use.

I played a 3 Hawk list and had a blast! Was it competitive? Not really, but I did go 2-1 in a local tournament with it. I lost a game because I just could not kill Tycho in his A-wing (dice abandoned me!).

It's rough to do double 1300 because you only get 1 Outrider title. If you wanted to go that route, dancing Dash with a Fringer sporting APL and Intel Agent could be interesting. The Fringer just gets in the way and blocks while Dash does all the damage. You could probably pick up a Bandit or Prototype with the extra points to have another source of shooting or blocking.
