I was there for some of the new centurions to round out my Ultramarines. I saw the price and grabbed it. Hats off to the nid and BA players, from a modelling standpoint I have always wanted to do an aliens (yes the campy second one) nids crossover thing so maybe "Mommy always told me there is no such thing as monsters.... But there is...." Best little kid line ever..... Anyway to the question,

I believe I can fairly easily turn this here Furioso into a nice dark themed Venerable, for my Ultramarines.

Doable? If it has been done examples? Don't play BA or nids but the price and the terms were a regular set so...

Heres my Furioso from the set with all the dirty Vampire scraped off. I added a few new bits of bling to cover the flat areas. He's not 100% finished yet, but as you can see he doesn't look like a BA.

Just needed some patience and a sharp knife.





I'd sell the nids, unless you really wanna play them.

I sold the nids, the rulebook, and the nid Special Character and made my money back in full that i spent on the set. Pretty sweet.

Forgot to add, I'm going to run him as an Ironclad.

He comes with all the right weapons, bar a seismic hammer. But i never liked how that looked, so i'll be counts-as-ing the Furiouso's CC weapons as the Ironclads.

Those are such a great deal. I bought 4 boxes of them at about $95 USD. The modelling value is spectacular; though the play value of the units are slightly less so (in that they're not best-in-slot units), but other than the genestealers, which are kind of marginal, I think everything has some play value

The only thing I painted out of them so far was a DC Dreadnought.

I dunno. Im pretty stoked about the 3 carnifexes, 9 warriors, and 10 terminators I got because of the box set-- for less than the price of a single box.

If my nid army consists motly of warriors and fexes, so be it! Im sick to death of flyrants, rippers and spores.

Actually, next on the release list is Stormstorm. They're trying to keep up the whole 'storm' theme, and the alternative title ("Kittenstorm") was dark, but it wasn't grimdark.

The one with the female chick it's as if he is sayin "Oi, that looks like it's lunch that is!" Or if you you had two it could be "Could we ummm get that?" With the hands they have a mild pointing thing going on...
