I've pretty much decided that a huge chunk of my expansion from 1500 to 2000 is going to be spent on a typhon. But I'd like to hear people's experiences with it. Currently I have it standard with ceramite plating. Considered a legacy that grants 'it will not did'. But it's 90 points. And then I was thinking about lascannons.... But they're hard hitting on points too. If I take it as is with just the armour upgrade I have room For another maulerfiend.

I don't see much point in giving it any expensive upgrades myself, as Super-Heavies don't risk suffering from Weapon Destroyed anyways, which is the main reason for why I would take additional guns on other tanks.

Some of the legacies are pretty good though, like the Death of Kastyr Lutien and Vessel of Tzenakh the Occluder (I probably didn't spell those right)

Yeah I can only imagine giving it the armoured ceramite and maybe a legacy.

The one that boosts summoning is good but only for a certain build.

The vessel of the occluder is cool but warning it knocks your bs down to 3.

I like the one that makes cultists fearless and gives you a 4++ on your last hull point. You can then use the cultists (probably compulsory troop) as bubblewrap

First of all, the typhon is one nasty, nasty super heavy. That pie plate of utter doom is not going to make you too many friends.

To be honest, naked typhons are pretty darn good. If you care, you can run armored ceramite or (to kill two birds with one stone) the legacy of ruin which gives fearless to cultists (4th quadrant rebellion). This gives you the bubble wrap which protects against melta anyway and gives you fearless objective campers in the backfield. The typhon probably should not be moving anyway. Park that badboy in your backfield, maybe behind and aegis line and surrounded by fearless cultists and let him do some work with those pie plates.

This is true, but this is also why the Typhon is perfect for it imo, shooting a blast isn't nearly as affected by the drop in BS as other vehicles. A typhon staying in the backlines is also more likely to survive and grant you the D3 extra points than a lot of other tanks.

Is it worth demonic possession? Considering its a super heavy so it ignores crew stunned and crew shaken anyway, what else are you gaining? (I'm at work at the moment and don't have my book)

The Vessel of Tzenakh the occluder makes you roll a D6 before the game starts. On a 1, your opponent will gain 1 Victory Point if the vehicle is destroyed, on a 2-6 you will gain D3 victory points if it survives.

In 5 out of 6 matches you can play for a draw and win if your vehicle is alive (then get called a ForgeWorld cheeselord etc. by your opponent who actually thought it was an acceptable draw for a moment)

It does feel dirty. Theres also nothing stopping you taking another legacy as far as I can See.

I dont think fateweaver can affect those rolls unfortunately

Sounds like a great option at 20 points... Not sure how to make it fit.... Let me know...
