He's going to spam Flyrants with twin linked devourers.

Peregrine - If you like the army buy it, and don't worry about what one random person on the internet thinks.

Except that only one HQ is allowed.
OP, if you know your opponent is taking a Flyrant, make sure to bring some Skyfire of sorts, the Tyrant is the best unit in the Codex, throwing out 10.68 S6 shots on average with a 42" threat range.
As for Troops, Rippers and Mucolids are going to likely be the choices, since they operate well out of Synapse.
If he's going for a more grounded list (which I would recommend since FMC's/FLyers work best in multiples) then a Tervigon and Termagants (Devilgaunts) or Hormagaunts are going to be the likely choices. Creating free units in a low points game is godly.

Warning From Magnus? Not Listening!

If I was running a list with just and HQ and 2 troops, I would run 1 of 2 lists.
List 1: Play to win
Flyrant (Tyrant with electroshock and 2 TL devs)
30 termagants
1 Tervigon
Tough to deal with because of one of the best fliers in the game and a MC that produces new units AND is a troop.
List 2: Casual Game
Tyranid Prime
30 termagants
5 warriors
More for fun. These kinds of games let me run stuff I normally wouldn't. Maybe I would switch out the termagants for horms if I wanted to make an easier game for my friend.

well the good thing is that for this round no flyers are allowed. I strangely had a similar thought to you about the Tervigon & Termagants, that this would be likely to be ran. which means I don't think I have anything powerful enough to take down a Tervigon in my sisters arsenal.
