So after being bored painting various forms of marines and realising that necrons were about to get a new book I picked some up a while back and I now have a few list ideas.

For 2500 my idea was to remove 1 tomb blade and add the Judicator Battalion with 2x 5 praetorian squads and 2 stalkers.

Not sure how competitive any of this would be but I like the idea of a mass of undying infantry. Or would I be better off with 40 warriors and 20 Immortals in two scythes.

My other 2500 idea dropping to 40 warriors (would also change my 2000 list) the canoptek harvest as above, bare bones judicator battalion and bare destroyer cult.

Bump. Any thoughts on this?

1990 is a funny number. i guess this is a 2000 point list, which is more of an american thing than a british. There is a lot of gauss shooting in the army, but I don't know how well it would do against a proper combat deathstar. One thing is for sure - your list is very hard to kill. And its got a lot of gauss. I just wonder if it can deal with, say, a horrible TWC blob smashing into it and forcing one or two units to get swept a turn...

Yeah its 2000 which seems to be the new level in my local store. Yeah my idea for those units is to throw the wraiths at them to tie them up as long as I can. I do feel there's a lack of serious damage output. Coming from marines it feels strange relying so much on a basic weapon but I think it might still do OK just by being so resilient and focusing on objectives

Yeah. What I'm worried about with these strategies is getting swept. Think we are still prone to it with i2... I remember getting a 15man warrior squad swept by a single techmarine and thinking: I should remember this. But I get that boys on the ground makes sense withthe new codex. I guess time will tell.

10 immortals touh is kind of..meh
they are 17points each.
tomb blades are 18points base, for 1 more point you get to take another tomb blade instead...

your warrior blobs would love to have a cryptek in them
4+reanimation, possibly reroll 1's if you overlord is close
add a chronometron - 5++ against shooting
IF a warrior should die - you can regen 3D3 ! new ones
Completely insane...you can't be killed ^^

i would probably try and loose the night scythe and a wraith to make this happen ^^

but your list is good as it is (except for the immortals :p )

Split your 3, 30 blobs into 6 10s. Then half your army can ride in them, and you're less likely to get mauled, tarpitted or wiped in cc.

I live night scythes. Keep. And you need immortals in your list for reclamation.

I'd try to max either wraiths or blades. 10 jetbikes with tl rf gauss blasters ignoring cover with 4+ rp is scary.

I want to try the 3 20 strong blobs. It's a visual that has always drawn me to necrons and this book seems like the one to let that shine....in theory. So looking at what you have all said here is what I'm thinking now

The royal court seems like a bit of a waste at 2500 ( I know I'll have a tournament at that level a couple times this year and it's always anything goes) but the extra 5++ might he worth it just to really wind people up when models refuse to die

um...you can only fit 10 models in a Ghost Ark.

The ghost arks float along side repairing and adding firepower.

looks nice man.

reducing the immortals to minimum squad and adding more tomb blades is a nice change.
in the 2500 points army you should consider adding shield vanes to them for a 3+ save,2 points per model.
it will take you to 2501 points touh....not sure how your opponents feel on that....where i play it's accepted to be a couple of points over the limit.

In casual games I'm sure itd be fine but it'll be also used in a tournament where I wouldn't be able to do that. I could drop an immortal or something
