So I just bought the Reaper Bones undead dragon (Nethyrmaul is his name I think) and I want to mount a vampire on him, as I think it looks so much better than putting him on a gheist and calling it a dragon. That being said I have a few twists to any old vampire working for my vision: The general of my vampire count army is a vampiress, and I would like to make this as her epic mount choice, meaning that I would like to mount the dragon with a female vampire. My initial thought was to go on ebay and purchase the main vampire from the coven throne as well as the bits to build the said throne and then mod that onto the back of the dragon, as if the vampiress is lounging on a throne strapped to the back of her zombie dragon.

My question is: is this all plausible, would it work to put these specific models together, or would I be better served looking at another setup? Anyone seen something similar in their perusals of other's models?

I looked up the models you mentioned, and it looks like the throne is a bit big and flat compared to the dragon, which is very tall and skinny. Regardless of what model you use, using the Nethyrmaul as a mount is going to be hard since you only have a wee spot on his back where it flattens out to place his rider. I think the dragon looks killer, but you might want to look elsewhere for a rider.

I see what you mean, but I'm not talking about the entire palanquin that her and her two handmaidens ride on, I'm just thinking the actual seat that she rides on and green stuffing that to look like it's been strapped there and model her onto the seat like she's riding side saddle.

Ah, I see what you mean. I can't see the model real well on the GeeDubs site, so I couldn't really tell how it was split up. It looks like you could make that happen - she'd definitely need to be sitting side-saddle though, as you said. I think with a convincing GS conversion it would look great, the models really go well together. I'd say get them both together with some sticky tack and start experimenting.

I'm just waiting for the Nethyrmaul to show up in the mail and take a look at it first and then I'll make a decision. I'll post pics when it is done though. Hopefully it'll turn out good.

You could use the Bretonnian damsel or enchantress as a base model. They ride their mounts sideways. Also, there is an oop metal female vampire that rides the same way.

I thought about that, I just hate the faces on the old damsels, they look too out of proportion, like something drawn on a political cartoon, to me. And the stupid hair cones look ridiculous to me... as a personal preference. Maybe if I were to cut off their head, but I'm not sure how integrated those are to the bodies to which they are attached.
