Infiltrating Broodlord

Disclaimer: If you are going to criticize because I am not running Wave Serpent spam please do not post.
I have a 2000 Pt. local tournament coming up this month and I wanted to run an Eldar list that wasn't just "Spam Wave Serpents and win" list.
Autarch: Fusion Gun
Guardians x11 Star Cannon Support Gun
Guardians x10 Star Cannon Support Gun
Crimson Hunter
Crimson Hunter Exarch
Vaul's Wrath Support Battery: Vibro Cannon x3
War Walker: Holo Fields, Ghost Walker Matrix, Star Engines, Star Cannon, Scatter Laser x3
Wraith Knight
Fire Dragons x6
Fire Dragon Exarch: Fast Shot, Fire Pike
Wave Serpent: Holo Fields, Scatter Laser, Shuriken Cannon
Wraith Guard: D-Scythe
Wave Serpent: Holo Fields, Scatter Laser, Shuriken Cannon
Looking for any suggestions to the list without making it too cookie cutter to what has been showing up in tournaments since the 6th edition codex came out and since 7th dropped.
Thanks.

War Walkers look like they are too expensive with all those upgrades. Maybe cut a few upgrades and add Warlocks to the guardians for shrouding shenanigans.

With all gear they are 110 points each. But they also get +1 cover save, +3" run move and Move Through Cover. It essentially lets me move into range takes shots and then have a high probability of making it back into cover where the +1 cover save helps keep then fragile open topped guys out of harms way.
Warlocks aren't as good with their shenanigans as they used to be with the 7th edition psyker rules.

I hear you, but I like them at 70 points per model. If you're set on some upgrades I'd probably just go with the Star Engines for the extra movement and try to get out of LOS entirely. But I'll be interested in how it works either way, as it's pretty similar to my list.
Is the Autarch there just for a cheap HQ?

Do you find the Support Batteries make back their points fast enough? My Necrons opponent is fond of dropping his troops in my deployment zone backfield. I like the idea and they seem cheap enough both points-wise and money-wise.

They are pretty tough to be honest. 90 Points nets you 6 T7 wounds with a 3+ save. I find that the vibro cannon does very good against elite infantry that think their 3+ or 2+ save will save them from me. The problem is you are only going to get 1 shot per turn per heavy weapon no matter witch gun you choose. the Shadow weaver does have the small blast template though so if you think you can get lucky and score multiple hits that way. Against swarms that's what the war walkers are in there for. Force the saves on the guys with the scatter laser and knock off enemies with star cannons without allowing for saves. I will say reanimation protocols can be quite nasty if you are fighting Necrons though. How is he dropping his troops behind you? Nightscythes? the Crimson hunters should be able to take care of them with 4 Str 8 shots each. Automatically Appended Next Post: If nothing else the vibro cannon is definitely a denial weapon. It has a good enough range that not much is going to want to get in its range as 3 hits can be devastating to even heavy vehicles.

Have you considered adding DE allies? 5 dragons in a venom is just so sweet!! Also, I really don't like guardians (I hate their models tbh) why not avengers?

Avengers are pretty good if you have them in Wave Serpents. Really the only reason people even take DA's is for the wave serpent. Guardians or a bit more squishy but they also get a heavy weapon. Adding a star cannon lets them soften up a group of marines, or centurions, or any other elite type infantry from a distance. The only benefit DA's get is 6" of range on their standard weapons and 1 better armor save which does nothing for them if you stick them both in cover anyways. Other than that their WS, BS, S, T is all the same. I see them more as a star cannon with 10 wounds.

If you drop your SCs on the serpents, the extra guardian, the extra fire dragon, the holo fields on the walkers you can take a farseer.
The farseer with give you access to good defensive powers, and twin linked for your vibros, get shrouding from telepathy and congo line your guardians within 6" of the seer for unit shrouded, not to mention the +3 magic dice.

How would the guardians get unit shrouding from the farseer?

From the shrouding telepathy power, but if you want shrouded guardians just give them a warlock. I prefer to take farseer with guide+prescience and shriek. You can give rerolls to 2 units and have a decent hitting power.
I was saying to take DE just so you can get your Fire dragons in a venom and deep strike them, cause if your opponent knows what he is doing they will never reach their target. And a raider with kabalite warriors is not bad and it's cheap.

Warwalkers with star engines is all you need ( they will alive at end) but they must be a unit of 2 max... because of base size.. you could drop a Crimson Hunter and take 2 more and get emls

in order to have a 2nd squad of war walkers i would need to drop a heavy support as I already have 3 on this list. Also 2 War walkers with missile launchers equipped with flakk missiles and star engines costs more than a single crimson hunter. Only thing with the crimson hunter is I dont have to pay for it to be able to efficiently shoot at a ground target.

sorry for some reason I made a mistake, I thought war-walkers were fast attack for some reason! you are pouring points into nice to have's you need to avoid doing that.. the simple truth is 2 warwalkers with star engines will survive .. 3 you will lose one in the first turn. (or it will be unable to shoot)..
I think in total this list will get annihilated, the guardians might be able to tar pit a deep striking unit .. (but then, why take star canons?) the vibro canons are a great idea (I have 9!) but 3 is often not enough..
the *game winners* of this list are the fliers, the 2 wave serpent units and the wraithknight.. the vibro canons might ive a fairly long time.. if you can make those units work together you are still 600 pts down on a list you are against.. what I am saying is this *is* a sort of spammy cheese list you just take filler units that are simply there to die in the first turn
I would seriously think about taking 2 squads of jet bikes instead of the guardians.. does the autarch go with the fire dragons? if not take a farseer on jet bike.. take a wraithseer too for the wraithguard and do not upgrade them to d-scythes.. the standard guns are fine.. do not hesitate to pile them into close combat

lol please DS next to my guardians... they want infintry to be in their faces. I have had guardians rip through terminators. BS4 with auto kills on 6's please They arent there to tar pit. I think your view of how eldar are supposed to be played has been skewed by wave serpent and jetbike spam. This list is not spammy AT ALL. I dont see a single unit that gets "spammed" You want spammy i can run a wave serpent list with minimal squads and 3 wraithknights. I literally own 7 wave serpents and 55 dire avengers. I can run that list but choose not to because I want to show people that Eldar can be run without the cheese. You laugh at this list and say it will get annihilated but I have won games in 7th edition with no wave serpents. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also star cannons are AP2. they kill elite infantry like they are nothing. I love to see centurions when i have my star cannons around. they literally cry. Every unit in the Eldar book is pretty good save for banshees and harlequins. Problem is people don't know HOW to play those units so they resort to wave serpent spam.
