Hey guys,

i'm currently building my new orc army and want to collect some advices what to buy next for my army.

units i have:

100x orc boys
1x warboss (black reach)
1x trukk
5x nobz

first i wanted to get 100 boys.
i personally think maybe first some trukks and then battlewagon and elite units?!

what do you think?

what type of army are you wanting to field?

there are so many cool Ork units out there.

at a minimum a few trukks for sure though

First thing to do is sell all the Orc boys, they're no use to you. What you want to buy is some ORK boys way better.

But if you're planning to run 100 boys, then I dunno how useful trukks would be... the boys will be footslogging, and you dont want to be splitting your force up in waves, as it makes them easier to kill.

I'd suggest some Lootas, to sit at the back firing shots while your boys run up the field. And maybe some Mek Guns (Though I would go third party for those, as the games workshop ones are stupidly expensive to buy). Mek Gunz are cheap (in points) and really good.

As you're walking all your army up, some killa kanz or deff dreads to back them up might be good too, as they would be going at the same speed.

If you run the formation that lets your run the entire mob of 100 boys as a single unit, then a single painboy is the best thing you can buy, as it gives all 100 boys FNP.

Mek Guns (buy alternative models, kit bash, or just you know....spend all your money gw kit is expensive )

For your HQ, I’d buy Ghazghkull Thraka and run him as a Mega-Armor Warboss. Another great option is a Big Mek in Mega-Armor with a Kustom Force Field, maybe two of them since you have so many Boyz.

For Elites, I’d buy Mega-Armor Nobz. You can either run them on foot or mount them in a Battlewagon or Trukk and use them as a MANZ Missile.

For Fast Attack, I would buy Warbikers, lots of them, since you have a foot slogging army and need some mobility. After Warbikers, another option is Stormboyz (one of my favorites) or maybe a Dakkajet.

For Heavy Support, there are too many good choices and not enough HS slots. Definitely at least one unit of Mek Gunz (the Lobba or Kannon and Traktor Kannon mainly). Next, Lootas or Flashgitz. After that, a Deff Dread or some Killa Kanz.

Now buy some moar Boyz fast an git yer Greenskins Stuck In!

If you are running 100 boys and a warlord just play the green tide put the 5 nobs with Powerklaws in here as well.

Which means you need to build a cad next.
First you should get a pain boy next.
Then a squad of gretchon or a few more orcs.
Then You need tankbustas or lootas or Mek guns for some supprt Fire. If you go the tankbustas route you can put a squad of 5-12 in a trukk.
Then You should get some mobile objrctive grabbers such as warbikers, warbuggies, deffkoptas or stormboyz

Basically, no matter what path you choose, painboss and big gunz are always useful. Than depending on what you like the most - formation greentide, oldschool greentide, mechanised, you can build list around your preferences.

Footslogging is probably gona be the cheapest option just cause you allready have 70% of what you need. While mechanised will require a hell ton of wagonz, trucks, bikes, etc. Also, if you choose to footslog, i'd advocate against characters in megaarmor. Yep, 2+ rerollable is great but no-run is a huge liability for footsloggas.

A single truck ain't bad even for footsloggas. I always run 'ard truckboyz with my footsloggas and love the results.

Bikerz and/or deffkoptas could definitely help fill out some spots in your list.

I bought 12 lootas + 20 additional boys and sold the trukk to a friend because i want more of a footslogging army.

Our goal is to play 1500pts games (5th edition)!

So yeah i created this list and would like to know what do you think about it.

3x Zzap gun (5 Gretchins each)
1x Deff Dread (Mega Blasta, Rokkit Launcha)
1x Big Mek (KFF)
1x Warboss (Mega Armour, Twin-Linked Shoota, Power Klaw)

= 1497 Points

Please notice that we play 5th edition. The points in the new edition wouldnt fit. I knot that

I think you need to consider adding a Nob with a Boss Pole to each of your Shoota Boyz and Slugga Boyz mobs to keep them in line. Also, if you think you'll be facing units with an Armor Value, drop the Big Shootas and replace them with Rokkit Launchas.

Get some commandos, they have cool models

Are Lootas still good? Get a bunch of them.
