Tiles = Will Not Happen:
After extensive testing, we have determined that the Starfield Game Tile Kit is no longer the best option for an X-Wing play surface. The X-Wing Playmats will replace the Starfield Game Tile Kit.
Two years too late but here you go:

Well, if they can leverage their position to make the price competitive, I've still yet to invest in a mat of my own.

It does have a non-slip bottom, and I'd like one of those!

I can imagine these will be big sellers if they can get the price around the same as the HCD mats. Owning one of the nicer mats already, the Death Star has me more than tempted.

I have mats from HCD, Deep-Cut, and GF9. GF9 makes the very finest: vivid art, quality textured vinyl, and no they don't slip around on the table one bit. What they don't have is the Star Wars license.

I also have a GF9 mat (the blue ice-world one to be specific... my youngest daughter picked it out) and I absolutely love it. However, now that FFG is releasing a mat with the Death Star and Yavin on it, I'm tempted to pick one up...

I wound up with a Gripmat from Break From Reality Games. The person I play X-Wing with the most has a typical vinyl mat with a very pretty picture of a nebula, not sure of the manufacturer. It was too slippery for us. The Gripmat fixed that. Press down lightly, templates or ships stick with no wiggle.

Now if only their Kickstarter would deliver.

Ive already placed my order with my supplier for the star mat. Yeah, they are 2-3 years late on this.

I have a nice matt made by a local guy and it's super pretty. That said if they release one with endor on it for Armada I could be tempted.

They're up on the FFG store for $40, so smack bang average price.
