I've got a Nob body and a Big Shoota left over from an Ork Boyz box, and I kind off want to convert him into a Loota. I'll obviously need to make a backpack for him, maybe some ammo bands et cetera. Any more ideas?

Just add the Big Shoota, any ammo you have, and anything big and shooty.

If you want Lootas on the cheap, the best way is to get a box of Boys and 2 of the Loota/Burna kit. This actually gets you enough parts to build 10 Lootas and 10 Burnas, so long as you take a Mek in each squad and are willing to repurpose a Big Shoota or two.

Yeah, there's no need to mimic the GW Loota 'frame and back pack' look unless you really want to (e.g. to fit in with a unit of other standard GW Lootas). A Loota is just a boy with a ridiculous heavy weapon made from a bodge-up of stolen/scavenged bits from other heavy weapons.

So long as visually the weapon clearly looks like that (and not some other weapon, e.g. it needs to be larger than Flash Git guns, and not look like a big shoota or rokkit launcha), then it's fine.

I'm wondering why you would want to convert a Nob, though. I think Boyz with any Big, Heavy gun looking thing would be good.

Just curious too. What bitz/guns do you use to create your own Custom lootas? If anyone's done it, I'm curious what guns in GW bitz are big and bulky enough.

What about the double barreled warbike dakkagun? Those are pretty bulky. Don't have any Lootas so not sure if they'd be too big~
