Welcome All! As some of you may have seen already, I have a previous post up of my WIP Chaos Warband already up. But after a long hiatus from the hobby and the new Orks I've received over the holidays I decided rather than trying to maintain two seperate project logs I will just roll my Orks and CSM into one big thread. So from this point forward the previous thread will no longer be updated. My CSM force im building is a tzeentch warband. The general theme im going for is tzeentch wrshiping renegades with Thousand Sons legion allies. It currently stands at 3000pts and I plan to push it up to the 4000-5000pt range for Apocalypse games.

I currently have:
2 squads of chaos marines
1 squad of thousand sons
2 rhinos
1 squad of terminators
1 squad of chosen
1 heldrake
1 maulerfiend
1 forgefiend
1 predator
4 spawn
3 sorcerers

I plan to add another squad of thousand sons, 2 rhinos, a predator and contemptor dreadnought over the next 2-3 months. Ive finished painting about half of the army and have also gotten a few pieces of terrain. My Orks currently consist of a warboss, 20 boyz, a truk, a blitzbomma and 3 killa kanz. I will update the blog as i get models assembled and painted. To start of heres a little of what im working on right now.

This is my converted sorcerer that I use as my warlord. He was made using the head and arms from the Dark Vengance chaos character. The body comes from the Evilcraft range of miniatures. I sculpted the robes and flaming skull using greenstuff. I tried out doing glow affects on the runes on his cloak, but i dont think they came out that well.

These are my work in progress rubric terminators. Theyre mostly complete, im just waiting on some more bases to come in the mail to finish the 5 man squad. I wanted the Thousand Sons to stand out from the rest of the renegades so i went for a lighter shade of blue as well as an egyptian style theme to make the terminators look like rubrics. I got the torsos and heads off ebay in a terminator conversion kit. The power swords are converted using fantasy tomb King blades.

My halfway painted plasma chosen. These guys were assembled using mostly parts from the Evilcraft range as well as parts from the basic CSM kit and Raptor kit.

I have plenty more models in various phases of completion that will be posted as soon as I get some better pictures taken. Any painting/modeling tips would be greatly appreciated as I am still somewhat new to the hobby having only been playing a year or so. I would like to improve my painting skills over the course of these projects

Here are some more updated pictures of units that im currently working on, including some daemon engines!

My heldrake is halfway painted at the moment. More than likely it'll be the last model i finish painting in this army. I did a very minor conversion using the lasher tendril bits from a maulerfiend to add tentacles on the back end. It just looked weird to me so i decided to fill the empty space with something. I dont understand where GW was going with that design, like they stopped caring halfway through

Ive only gotten a little bit done on the maulerfiend. The marine casualty underneath is going to be a Word Bearer. I plan on writing up some fluff later on where this warband is enemies with the Word Bearers, fighting over some kind of relic that the Word Bearers see as a holy artifact while my warband sees it as a tool to use for their own ends

4 out of my 6 chaos spawn are completed and just need basing. I experimented with different fleshtones and then heavily washed them to get the blackish and blue skin tones on 2 of the spawn

This is my second sorcerer, the leader of the Thousand Sons legionaries allied to my warband. He's a kitbash using the sword from a grey knight terminator and the head from a clampack librarian. The robes and flames on his sword are sculpted from greenstuff. The second model is a spell familiar i made using left over fantasy bits.

More pictures will be up soon, im hoping my new bases will be in the mail in a day or 2

Finally completed my squad of plasma Chosen and all five Rubric Terminators. They're all based using a desert wasteland theme with Agrellan Earth texture, sand and some desert grass.

I tried to do a light glow effect on the plasma guns but it didnt come out too well. So I just painted over it and did a light coat of gloss instead.

Im happy with how the terminators turned out. I wanted the Thousand Sons legionaries to stand out from the rest of the warband and i feel like this paint scheme does a good job of setting them apart from the rest.

Iv'e also finally came up with a name for the warband and their leader. I've settled on the name Seekers of Fate, led by Sorcerer Lord Seraphis. I plan on writing up a full backstory for the warband and Seraphis over the course of this project. For now here are some updated pictures of the Sorcerer Lord himself.

I changed the head of his staff and added a few details including the lightning bolts on his staff. With Seraphis complete I only have a few more infantry squads to paint before I can start burning through the vehicles. On a side note, the Orks will be making an appearance soon so stay posted. Any and all constructive criticism is welcome.
