So, I play space marines, and basically, I have found that the rules for most of the forge world things are quite strong, and really cool looking, BUT the few FW models that I have proxied have been really fun, but annoying when I had to print off a PDF of the rules from the internet (let alone, immoral). I have now though of investing in the imperial armour books, but have found it quite scary considering there price of each book and the different rules for different units scattered throughout the many, many different books. So as a space marine player, how can I get the rules for majority of the models without having to buy more than 1-2 gigantic books. Happy Wargaming!

Imperial Armour Volume 2. That'll give you 95% of what you're looking for.

Forge World expensive? I never thought I would say this, but GW made FW look reasonable now.

According to this, most of the SM stuff from FW is in IA2 2nd ed, with a few things being elsewhere.

There is no alternative, besides trying to acquire that information illegally, the details of which are not a conversation that is permitted on this site.

The reality is, if you want to use Forgeworld, you need to buy their rules. The article we've created (linked in the post above this one) that shows you where the latest rules are found is helpful to make sure you're getting the book(s) you really need, but beyond that if you're willing to pony up the $ for the models, you have to factor in the $ for the books as well.

Yak, I'm not 100% certain he was asking where he could illegally download the rules. It was more a question which book(s) have most of the SM stuff so he only has to buy 1 or 2 books to get a bulk of the rules.
