Going to be playing a 4000 point game tomorrow (pretty much what's become our new standard value) with a friend, and I figured I'd post the list and see what people think of it. We both aren't running any Lords of War, but if I bring one I have to tell him I'm bringing a LOW (I could bring my Harridan).

List uses two CAD.

HQ:
Deathleaper
Swarmlord - Tyrannocyte w/ Venom Cannons
Flyrant w/ 2x TL Brainleech worms, e-grubs, Hive Commander, Fighter Ace
Flyrant w/ 2x TL Brainleech worms, e-grubs

Elites:
Lictor
Malanthrope
Malanthrope
Venomthrope x2
Venomthrope x2

Troops:
Hormagaunts x15
Hormagaunts x15
Hormagaunts x15
Hormagaunts x12
Devilgaunts x30 (outflanking)
Tervigon

Fast Attack:
Dimachaeron - Tyrannocyte w/ Venom Cannons
Gargoyles x10
Gargoyles x10
Gargoyles x10
Hive Crone
Hive Crone

Heavy Support:
Carnifex w/ 2x TL Brainleech worms, adrenal glands
Carnifex w/ 2x TL Brainleech worms, adrenal glands
Exocrine
Mawloc
Mawloc
Toxicrene - Tyrannocyte w/ Venom Cannons

Comes out to 4000 exactly.

Plan is to place the Lictor/Deathleaper (sadly I don't have any more lictors) in fairly survivable places near his line to help with 2+ deepstrike reserves turn two. Saturate his front lines so the rest of my army can catch up and quickly overwhelm him.
He will either be running a Space Marine alpha strike list, or the new Necrons (haven't face them yet). Space Marines the carnifexes, exocrine and hormagaunts should be able to deal with, but against Necrons the AV13 has always been a problem.

One thing I am worried about is synapse. Would it be worth it to take out something like the carnifexes to add three warrior broods?

I know this is a larger list than is normally posted here but I figured it could be cool to talk about.

I'm pretty sure 2000+ is technically apocalypse so LOW choices are just apocalypse units. Still a good idea to tell your opponent first, but I find the tyranid bio-titans to be really cool( and more cinematic then things like warhounds)

It has 7 HQs, 2 Troop types with Dedicated Transports, 5 Elite units, 5 Fast Attack units, 6 Heavy Support units, 2 Formations with unique units not in the rest of the codex, and 2 LOW choices.

You are right, we just like to treat it as a normal game so that it's faster.

It looks pretty nice, but it does look awefully light on Synapse. If the foe targets it the Hormies will get getting hungry. two or three Broods of Warriors, with Cannons should be a major boost. And ofcourse Zoeys. I always want more Zoeys, in Broods of x2 they are pretty dang durable, and add powers of the Hive Mind!

The will of the hive is always the same: HUNGER

I'd only take the Harridan if your willing to run alot of gargoyles. The list seems pretty good already though( synaspse aside). Zoanthropes might be a good idea to put in.
