I was wondering if it is worth spending extra points on upgrading a SM drop pod by replacing the storm bolter with a deathwind launcher. I am currently building one for my dark angels and I don't plan on magnetizing it (maybe I'll magnetize the next one...). What do you guys think?

With the short range I wouldn't bother with it. I have had more luck with the drop pod being annoying with the storm bolter with its longer range. When you drop you could end up hitting your own guys that just got out and that's just helping the enemy out.

Only time I would do it is if I was sending the pod down empty.

It’s more viable these days. Before the changes to the vehicle firing rules, I wouldn’t have taken them for free. But now I could see it.

Nah... it's better to invest on the carge they're bringing inside. A single flamer will do more than the Deathwind launcher.
