Hi guys!

So I have an Emperor's Children CSM army of around 2500 points comprising of:
Lucius, biker lord, chaos lord, sorceror, dark apostle, daemon prince, 32x noise marines, 40x cultists, 8x bikes, 2x rhinos, 10x raptors, 6x obliterators.

I needed some variety in heavy support choice and wanted to keep it speedy and fluffy but fairly competetive, and so I was tempted by a Maulerfiend, but have since gone off the idea. Instead I've bought me a Chaos Predator. Problem is how do I kit it out to compliment my army?

I was thinking Autocannon, Lascannon sponsons and Havoc Launcher, giving it some versatility. But is this purposeful enough? Would appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks

Chaos Predators are pretty bad. You're putting on 4 weapons but at 6" move you can only shoot one. The rest are Snap Shots. And you're spreading out the optimal target. Awful idea. Pick a role for the tank and let it fill that role. If you want it to kill Infantry, autocannon and Bolter sponsons, if you want it to kill tanks, Lascannons. There is never a need for a Havoc, save that for your Rhinos.

The Maulerfiend would have been a better choice to be honest. As a Walker it can fire all of its guns, that's 8 S8 shots from the Autocannons it has if I remember right, and still plod along.

I like autocannon turret and lascannon sponsons personally.

I was thinking this yeah, but would you reccomend I add a havoc launcher or combi-bolter also?

Don't mix it's roles. If you're going for AT - go either tri-las or AC-Las. If you go for Anti-infantry...think - do you really need it as CSM so much?

Forgeworld Relic predator. Either plasmacutioner or conversion beamer. Autocannon version also comes with AP3 shells too.

Best loadout for me is TL LC turret with heavy bolter sponsons. Park it somewhere where it's hard for the enemy to hit anything but the front armor and snipe away with the LC and bolters the entire match. That front armor is hard to crack from the distance you'll be playing at. Hug terrain as much as you can to force shots against front armor. It usually remains an overlooked threat until it blows something up and makes its points back. If you want something to stick a bunch of gimmicks on like havoc launchers or blades or something, stick em on a rhino. Doing damage with tank shocks and havoc launchers is just bonus after you drop a squad off where it needs to be. You don't want a predator near the front line. It's too expensive and will get wasted too fast.

Maulerfiend, Forgefiend, whatever. It's a robot dinosaur. The one with the domed head. Friar Tuck!
