and I mean this in a troop sense. Example, I've magnetized the special weapons, sergeant power sword, and chain fists for my terminators. How would I do this for things like scouts, and other kinds of marines? I'm thinking the shotgun/bolter arm for scouts, but I am fairly new to the magnetizing scene. any tips or help?

I'm unclear on the question, sounds like you already know what you want to magnetize and what you should magnetize?

I only really know for termis and scouts. is there a reason to try on other infantry models?

I've magnetised all of my Sternguard, so they have the option of any combo or bolter.

I magnetised all my terminator bodies so they can be either shooty or assault terminators.

My Death Company are all magnetised...Dev squad.

Basically anything that has options I try to magnetise.

I don't own scouts but the sniper scouts looks difficult to magnetise. I'm going to get some bolt pistol/CCW scouts that I'll try to magnetised to be bolter/shotgun.

I think I have an addiction to magnetising my minis...

The only special weapons I bother magnetizing are those on bikes. Although I think I did my LotD counts-as as well. I’ve got enough basic PA on foot troops just to swap out from the spares shelf. Heavy weapons also just get glued together on spare bodies.

Most of my sergeants are magnetized these days. Often just the bolter arm for a combi, but one or two have both arms done.

Vanguard vets all have both arms and backpacks done.

Command squad both arms

Captains: JP one had both arms, the biker has one hand glued to the wheel, other swappable.

Assault marines have backpacks magnetized, and I did the flamers, although not bothered to paint the plasma pistol options yet.

My chaplain has a backpack swap and a bolt pistol/combi flamer, so I can field him as cassius, or a jump chaplain as needed.

I magnetized nearly everything.
Wrists for weapon swap, shoulder to give them heavy/CC weapons, backpack for JP/heavy backpack.

I basically only glue head, torso and legs together.

I do almost all my work at the shoulder, not the wrist. I use 2mm magnets, and the wrist is a very tight fit for those. Lots of space in the arms/shoulder though.

How about different terminator arms? CC & ranged squad.
I think the cyclone ML would be easy to magnetise.
Also I just picked these up - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00B1FM6GO?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00
50 2mm self-tapping screws. This way I can put the magnets in the body & the screws in the options thus saving a bundle on magnets!
Don't think they're small enough for doing wrists but I will try to do special weapons with them. Just need a bunch of 2mm magnets.
Other than that I'm not sure (troops-wise).
Oo - just thought. Good for BA Death Company - magnetised backpacks & jump-packs.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

When I first started magnetizing, I cut the heads off of small finishing nails, and used those for light bits. You save money, but only get half the gripping power. Might be an issue for some joins.

I stuck a magnet in my CMLs, and they spend more of their time on the tops of my speeders now as TMLs then on my terminators. If I was starting over, I’d have done the arms of my terminators, but they are old and metal, so just glued together,
