I played Blood Angels last night, and in there, I had an old Commander Dante kitbash (Sanguinary Guard + jumppack & shoulder pad from bits) on a 25mm resin base. It looked so tiny and sad beside my shiny new tacticals and Death Company from Deathstorm that I just couldn't help it. Rebased the guy today, and I have to say, he looks SO much better on 32mm. I take back all the mean things I said about 32mm, and how I would never rebase my models... I guess the ones I like will be getting the 32mm treatment.

The sad thing is, I don't think the unit is legal now, since Dante only ships in a 25mm base. If anyone says anything, I'll just have to tell them to bite me.

C&C on the model or base welcome, of course Base was a pretty quick job. Acrylic Gesso, Citadel Agrellan Earth down the "path", PVC glue and then a couple of rocks and sand. No paint on the base except the brown ring. Mostly, it was to see how much work it would be if I wanted to rebase a bazillion models, so it had to be quick.

Anyone else gone off the deep end and decided to rebase 32mm?

Rebase, no, but I am building a few models on 32mm. Like you, models that I am particularly fond of,like my Cypher kitbash. I agree, it looks fantastic.

I can't imagine you'll have any problems with legality-GW have basically said outright that it's a choice for most models as to whether you go 25mm or 32 mm. Plus, it's a kitbash-who's to say what size base it came with

I did the same Talys, I was so tired of Dante and the Sanguinary Guard falling over every game.

I went and resin casted a boat load of them to eventually do all my power armor stuff. It does look so much better.

Looks very nice and you're dante kitbash is very well done.

I'm planning to rebase my BA, but it will be on 25mm bases since I've been able to pick up a bunch of Sedition wars bases for a bargain.

Thank you! I still have a truckload of 25mm resin bases that I've collected over the years :\ I think they will go towards Eldar / Dark Eldar / Harlequin troop type units, since these models are very "svelte".

LOL yeah. Sanguinary Guard wings breaking off are like war wounds When they first came out, I always wondered why newer winged models like Sanguinary Guard and Dark Eldar Scourges didn't come on 40mm bases. I mean, the size of the model, including the wingspan, is just much larger than the bases. Especially with Scourges that are in takeoff/landing poses.

I think I will do the same -- I'll start with anything bulkier than Power Armor, and work my way eventually to normal tacticals. I am going to go nuts when SWM releases 32mm bases, I think :X
