Hey all! The new Necron codex convinced me to take the plunge into the fleshless legions, and so I come bearing a list!
A couple things:
- I will most likely be playing against Imperial Guard
- I am willing to purchase more units, though we play very casually so stand-ins aren't a problem either
And with that, here is my list!
HQ: 160p
- Overlord with war scythe, gauntlet of fire, resurrection orb, and phase shifter
* He will join the Immortals *
ELITES: 265p
- 1 Triarch Stalker
- 5 Triarch Praetorians with voidblades and particle casters
TROOPS: 640p
- 10 Immortals with gauss blasters
- 10 Warriors with Ghost Ark
- 10 Warriors with Ghost Ark
FAST ATTACK: 259p
- 3 Canoptek Wraiths with Whip Coils
- 2 Destroyers, plus one Heavy Destroyer
HEAVY: 170p
- Doomsday Ark
Any criticism is welcome!! Thanks for your time!

A lot of minimum sized units. Your a squad of tomb blades away from everything in your army having a +1 feel no pain (minus wraiths and stalker).
I think its pretty unanimous that the rods are the way to go with the praetorians. Ap2 ranged and cc > extra attack.
I dont like the heavy destroyer in the unit of destroyers, some people do though. Much different target priorities. You could have just a unit of 2 destroyers and a separate unit of 1 heavy destroyer.
Overlord doesnt fit great with the immortals. For 1 they are walking and he wont get to do much. He also has a bad loadout to be in a purely ranged unit.
The doomsday ark will be hit or miss, probably do ok in casual games as long as he has good firing lanes.

Am I better off with bigger groups of units? 1500 points makes it tough haha
Oooh so maybe Tomb Blades would be a solid addition!
Ah, fair enough on the praetorians! I really like the possibility of entropic touch, but I do realize it is just that - a possibility. I suppose their low Initiative would hinder their chances of using it anyways.
I can see what you're saying with the heavy destroyer as well... I think I will split them up, as that means more targets, etc
The Overlord was something I was having trouble with - a unit of lychguard might be better for him to join I bet... Would a Catacomb Command Barge be a better option for him though? Add in a phylactery maybe? I basically gave him the fire gauntlet so he could do something but he does seem wasted on the Immortals.
Thanks for the c+c!

I would drop the destroyers for a full unit of Wraiths with whips. 3 won't last very long.
A Cryptek with the immortals would be better than the overlord IMO. Gives them +1 RP and you can kit him for ranged attacks. Could also kit him to teleport the immortals. Orikan and Szeras are good Cryptek options as well.
If running a CAD, I really find that running a lot of troops is beneficial (at least four). With RP, and cheap Crypteks (or szeras for a 6" bubble +1RP) the troops section of the codex is quite durable, and quite powerful with mass gauss fire being able to hurt pretty much everything in the game. Throw in some Ghost Arks to build fallen warriors, and some CC units to counter attack makes for a hard list to beat this way at 1500 points (and other armies you'd usually see at that points level).

Ok, I definitely like the 6 wraith idea, as I tried out this list just to see and my opponent took the 3 out extremely quickly, didn't even get into combat with them! It was a little poor strategy on my side that led to that but doubling up on them will certainly help.
I was thinking about the veil for the overlord - I will switch out for a cryptek and see how it goes, maybe even use Szeras.
True enough on using lots of troops for CAD, especially with ObSec, and their beautiful gauss guns! Should I maybe drop the doomsday ark to fill up my troops?

If you know you are going to face something like Knights, the VB/PC combo on the TPs is actually pretty boss. Also, it's going to be the superior choice against Guard in most cases I can think of.
I feel like your Immortal/Overlord crew needs a Night Scythe or something.
Also, not much really for the Stalker to buff. You may want to drop him and bring some more Heavy D's in your HS or something.

Ah! That is actually a relief on the TP front haha as I already assembled them with the VB/ PC, not that I couldnt proxy them or anything but still!
I do have a nicely done up NS for those immortals to ride around in with my Overlord, so maybe i will drop that Stalker and give them that!
I have noticed people putting blobs of 20 warriors with a ghost ark as a dedicated transport... does that just mean they can't start in it? The 10 transport cap with 20 guys confuses me haha (I am a noob if you can't tell!)
I might swap my overlord for szeras to buff up the group too. Not sure if that is s good move though

Basically, yeah. The GA is there to attract firepower and repair Warriors in that case, but it's completely legal.

Honestly if you are dropping a single HQ in with 10 Immortals in a NS, my pick of the litter is a Cryptek + Chronomotron + Solar Staff. It's just a perfect unit multiplier, granting them +1 to RP, a 5++, and a turn of psuedo invisi all for the low price of 105 points.
I like Szeras, but more on foot surrounded by 3 or 4 units on foot.
But, yeah, particularly with the way you are bring your Immortals (Gauss, no relentless), I think the Chronotek + Solar Staff is the way to go with them.

Ah! Okay! I was under the (mistaken) assumption that troops had to deploy inside their dedicated transport! That isn't a bad idea then!
Wow, how did I overlook bringing a Cryptek!?! That sounds amazing! The dang GW webstore has been out of crypteks for a while now, so maybe I will use my Szeras as a Cryptek.
Is the Relentless bit for Immortals the Pyhrrian Eternal thing?
My friend actually just asked if we could up our points value to 1600 (I guess he picked up some more Vets and wants to try them out) so I have some more extra room now!
Updated List:
HQ:
- Cryptek + Chronometron + Solar Staff (Should I throw a phase shifter on him, too?)
ELITES:
- 5 Triarch Praetorians with voidblades and particle casters
TROOPS:
- 10 Immortals with gauss blasters + NightScythe
- 10 Warriors with Ghost Ark
- 10 Warriors with Ghost Ark
FAST ATTACK:
- 3 Canoptek Wraiths with Whip Coils
- 2 Destroyers
- 4 Tomb Blades + Nebuloscopes + Shield Vanes (My Tomb Blades just got in, so I figured I'd throw them in too!)
HEAVY:
- Doomsday Ark
- Heavy Destroyer
With this list, and at 1600p, I still have about 70 points left over. Any advice on what to throw in there? I do want to run more wraiths but it will be a little before I can grab another box! Maybe buff up one of my warrior squads with some more?
