Kind of... a lot of options.

In game terms, special rules that give the player more decisions are inherently interesting (Hit & Run, Jink, Acute Senses, Infiltrate). I don't like stuff that just allows you to ignore huge swaths of rules without consequences (Ignores Cover, Relentless, Eternal Warrior, And they shall know no fear).

Agreed.

I think I'd prefer it if those abilities were less absolute. e.g.

- EW lets you ignore instant death the *first* time you take an ID wound - so, you have some protection, but you can't just tank ID wounds endlessly.

- Ignores Cover is just -2 to the enemy cover save.

- ATSKNF lets you reroll fear tests - not ignore them outright

- No idea what Relentless would be

I like anything that helps me in CC!

"Because the Wolves kill cleanly, and we do not. They also kill quickly, and we have never done that, either. They fight, they win, and they stalk back to their ships with their tails held high. If they were ever ordered to destroy another Legion, they would do it by hurling warrior against warrior, seeking to grind their enemies down with the admirable delusions of the 'noble savage'. If we were ever ordered to assault another Legion, we would virus bomb their recruitment worlds; slaughter their serfs and slaves; poison their gene-seed repositories and spend the next dozen decades watching them die slow, humiliating deaths. Night after night, raid after raid, we'd overwhelm stragglers from their fleets and bleach their skulls to hang from our armour, until none remained. But that isn't the quick execution the Emperor needs, is it? The Wolves go for the throat. We go for the eyes. Then the tongue. Then the hands. Then the feet. Then we skin the crippled remains, and offer it up as an example to any still bearing witness. The Wolves were warriors before they became soldiers. We were murderers first, last, and always!" —Jago Sevatarion

A lot of rules would be better if they were more granular, like how Poison and FNP work.
Instant Death (X) Each hit from a weapon with this rule causes X wounds on a sucessful to-wound roll, rather than 1.
Eternal Warrior (X) If a single hit results in multiple wounds, reduce the number of wounds taken by X, to a minimum of 1.
Stealth (X) add +X to your cover save. Multiple sources of Stealth are cumulative. (would remove the need for Shrouded)
Ignores Cover (X) reduce the target's cover save by X.
ASTKNF lets you reroll Fear checks, agreed.

But aren't you forgetting something important in there? And they shall know NO fear?

Other than that I completely agree. Btw interceptor is my favorite special rule, up there with ignores cover and stubborn. I don't like the new jink system. I liked the 6th edition one better.

I like Battle Focus. And Laser Lock. And Bladestorm. and well...just about all the special Eldar rules.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I don't think anyone's arguing that the rule makes sense, just that it's overpowered/doesn't fit well with the rest of the game. I mean GW is handing out Fear and abilities that test leadership left and right, and they're useless against the majority of armies because the majority of armies are SM with ATSKNF. Yeah, SM are Fearless in the fluff, it just completely eliminates a facet of the game by making them immune.

Fearless. It was my dearest rule since the 5th edition, and it is still dear. I'd want it for all my marines, because I hate screwing up with Ld 8+, and hiding/going to ground is for wusses anyway.

As a DE player, enemies with Ld10 are fine. I can reduce Ld.

What I cannot get around, however, are enemies whose Ld is basially irrelvant because they're outright immune to every Ld-based attack/effect I have.
