Just wondered what is the max size a group of scarabs can get to be using spyders to increase group size?
Can they only ever get to 10 bases or can they just keep increasing aslong as you have a spyder close enough to add a new base?

(btw apologies if this has been asked, but searching for scarabs atm in this forum gives me hundreds of results about army lists)

Scarab Farm is made better now by being able to take the Canoptek Formation, which get's Reanimation Protocol.. which get's silly when you add 9 Scarabs to a 10 man squad already then run up the field gleefully It's the best of both worlds really, a 29 Man strong turn 2 squad that moves twelve is fearless and has a 5+ Reanimation.
Plus you can give all the Spyders Particle Beamers for 10 points for 9 ST6 blasts you can shoot which isn't terrible.

The range of the Spyder does matter though as i proved in my last game. I was able to force his Spyder out of 12" and by doing so, stole the Reanimation protocols from the Wraiths. needed that.

Yeah it doesn't work like that at all. There was a huge thread about it. The Wraiths keep the Reanimation even if they move beyond 12" of the Spyder , as long as there within 12" at the beginning of the turn to be given the protocols they keep it till the beginning of the next turn.

Anyway I think that's enough of that since it doesn't really answer OP's question
Speaking of which, yes they can, since Spyders state they can increase the unit to larger than the number of models it originally started with
Not sure I would go with Scarab Farm though with the new Wraiths. AV13 Wall is also quite viable still (maybe not the Annibarge though)
