I haven't heard much about Logan since the 7th ed codex dropped, but I always liked him in 5th and 6th ed. He's probably not worth it due to points alone, but is he at least a semi-competitive beatstick still who can kill basically whatever he wants to? Also, is the chariot option as awesome as it sounds like it should be?

I tried him once and here are my impressions.

- In a game below 2000 I would stay away from him.

- The chariot option is very useful. This makes Logan invulnerable to poison attacks (Laugh at Dark Eldar Venom Spam).

- Protects Grimnar from Grav weapon (by taking the hits on the chariot they can only glance on a 6 and even if they do, the chariot still has it's own invul save).

- The fact he can still attack with his axe in a one-handed or two-handed fashion means he can deal with infantry or vehicules (AV 10-11 and maybe 12).

- For extra dickishness keep an Iron Priest on a thunderwolf to fix the chariot now and then.

I have not sent him against other huge beatsticks but he did some damage by himself: 2 Venoms, 1 Ravager, 1 Squad of Kabalite, 1 Squad of Incubi and a kitted out Archon.

I can't really decide. I think he is Strength 6 base now, which is good, and 4 wounds eternal warrior is good for tanking. I just don't know if I'd take him under any circumstances, I can't imagine him accomplishing anything a normal terminator unit couldn't also do.

Big downside to him in 7e is being a Lord of War so you still have to take a second HQ with him. That can hurt given what he costs.
