Here's some pics I snapped with my phone this morning of my vargheists. One of them was already painted(unbased) when I bought them and I painted the other two. Just finished the basing last night. Tell me what you think!

I think all the cliche things. The paints are too thick, the highlights are put on the edges, instead of the places where light would hit, and the shadows would be better blended with washes.

I'm sure they look just fine on the tabletop, though.

The detail pops so they would look great on the tabletop no doubt. I think if the white had grey in the recesses rather than black it would look much better.

I actually like that there's the sharp jump between white and black; it has a nice cell-shaded look to it (if that's the style he was going for). That being said, I do agree that some light grey shading near the recesses might make it a little more 3-dimensional. Keep the black lines, though!


oh, also, the obligatory 'water down your paints' comment, too.
