Hi, figured I'd do what others have done and stop lurking!
I've been into the hobby for, oh, a fair bit of time now. I started back in 2008, when I was but a callow young man with a severe spot problem, and sort of instantly fell in love with it. I used to play 40K almost exclusively, but I've been making an effort to branch out into other GW systems like Fantasy, and I've also started looking at games other companies do. Sadly, as is often the case, I ended up going to University which pretty much torpedoed my ability to carry on with it. I was never that rich to begin with, and the sorts of things a fella spends his money on at Uni didn't do much to change that.
I've decided to get back into the games properly, and seeing as Dakka has a big old community with a lot of places to get advice/discuss things, I thought I'd start here. At the moment, I've got a scrap-pile of a Speed Freeks army sitting somewhere in storage, plus an Ogre Kingdoms army that's just in need of a bit of painting. I'm also planning to start a pike-and-shot Empire army this year, too, as well as starting on a long cherished pipe-dream project of mine; to build a Carcharodons Space Marine force.
As to what I do when I'm not doing that? I write. A lot. I'm actually a short story author in my spare time, and occasionally even a published one. I only started writing in July last year, and figured that I may as well give it a shot while I was young and all that. Who knows? I may end up even getting a novel published someday.
I live in London, specifically in the Bromley area, though I can usually get around if I need to - London's transport system is good like that.
