What is something I can use to remove army painter primer from plastic models that will not destroy the models?

But seriously, I use Purple Power or Simple Green. Purple power works much better in my experience. Let them soak for a day or two and then take an electric toothbrush to them.

I did search but did not find advice on removing army painter, it seems to resist most things I have already tried.

AP primer stains HIPS. It's a real pain to get * completely * off. I think if you leave it to set for long enough, it's actually impossible without filing down the material a significant amount, but I've never actually cared enough to really try leaving it in the caustic stuff for super long.

BUT -- once you get the surface stuff off, the rest actually doesn't matter. Stained plastic will prime the same as unstained plastic, as long as there's no primer left on it adding volume.
