Breaking News Alert
The following report was released today by the Ministorium Informatus and cleared for publication by GNN. This past Tuesday, a reconnaissance unit
of our noble Blood Angels was searching an area recently thermo-bombarded by a renegade Imperial Guard unit. A data node was known to be in the area
as well as classified deployment maps kept in the local command center. A Land Speeder approached from the north and discovered the renegades had
occupied the command building. Shortly thereafter, Guard auto-cannon fire disabled the Speeder, indicating hostile intent.
A squad of Blood troopers entered through the eastern portal of the complex.
The Speeder had also spotted a Chimera that appeared to be the only armor in the area.
As the Blood Angels moved into the complex, it became apparent the renegade Guard held positions surrounding the command center in the distance.
A second squad accompanied by Librarian Count Platelet moved right to secure the data node while the first squad moved up the left to attack the Chimera
lurking behind a ruined bastion.
The Chimera emerged to take aim at the Angel squad and disgorged a unit of veteran Guards.
The Guard veterans opened fire, wounding several Blood Angels. Return fire felled several of the Guard.
The Angel squad moved forward and the Angel sergeant ordered his troops to assault the Chimera and eliminate the threat of its firepower.
Krak grenades made quick work of the vehicle.
The Guard veterans then assaulted the Angels, severely wounding three more Angels.
The second squad moved to the aid of the first squad survivors. The Guard veterans were wiped out.
The Blood Angel troopers then took shelter behind the smoking Chimera to plan their next move.
Meanwhile, Librarian Platelet secured the data node and determined it had not been compromised.
The renegade Guard commander now realized the threat, ordering his troopers to deploy.
The Guard group in the command center moved quickly to pack up the maps.
Guard squads moved to bring fire onto our heroic Astares warriors.
The auto-cannon crews moved their long range weapons forward to bear on Count Platelet.
The survivors of first squad moved to support the Count who had been winged by an auto-cannon shell. The Count’s wounds were serious enough to force his evacuation from the field.
The second squad determined it was time to take the fight to the renegades and moved forward, bolters blazing.
Braving las-gun fire, the Blood Angels’ boltguns began whittling down the Guard resolve
A solid volley of bolters and a Multi-Melta stripped the Guard commander of his bodyguard. Sensing that the tide may have turned, the Guard commander ordered his troopers
to retire with the prized maps and secure a victory for his Intelligence Services.
Bloodied, but not bowed, the Blood Angels retired to their bivouac to await their next call to duty.
