I don't play regular wh, but I like the vampire counts models. I was thinking about putting some together and running them as necrons. Figured I'd do stuff like use the corpse cart for a ghost ark, maybe terrorgheist or whatever it's called for nightscthe, etc. If I put everything on the right bases is it tourney legal generally or would it be a casual only army?

You have no weapons representing weapons, no clear counts-as and no conversions to make the models suitablle. You would need a VERY lax tournament organiser to even get a lookin. So it'd be a casual, only with close friends, if they're in a good mood, and can field beer can drop pods army I'd assume.

It will never be tourney legal. Models do not even closely ressemble the models they're supposed to, the weapons can't be identified, size difference etc.

K thanks that's kinda what I was thinking, no go w/o a lot of conversion and figuring something out for the weapons. May still do it for casual and an excuse to mess with the vc modela

The rulebook doesn't cover 'counts as'. You will have to run it by any opponents and/or tournament organizers.

Gotcha, I know kit bashing is generally alright and wasn't sure how much modifying I'd have to do to make vc models work. It'll probably end up being a just for fun project.
