I am considering coming back to playing 40k and thinking of dark eldar. Im looking to start small around 1000-1250 point lists eventually building up to 2k or 2500.

I am looking for direction towards competitive builds for dark eldar(if that exists). I am a die hard dark angels fanboy and my W/L record shows. I also have Thousand sons csm. I am sick of playing the red headed step-child armies of 40k and would like something that doesnt get punked immediately by top tier lists. Im hoping dark eldar have that option available to them. Where do I begin?

What kind of builds am i looking towards? Venom spam? Beast packs?

I have looked through the forums trying to find some good competitive lists but im just not quite sure what im looking for. I just know im looking for something DIFFERENT then space marines......

Hey, thought i'd pitch and say Welcome to the Dark City. (http://www.thedarkcity.net/). This is the site you will find almost all the answers you could ever ask and considerably more. It is dedicated exclusively to Dark Eldar and houses known DE Pros who regularly attend tournaments

They will give better insight then i could give i'm afraid.

You need lots of venoms, lots of msu scourge units with 4 haywire, raiders transporting grotesques, razor wing jet fighters and a couple ravager a.

Utilize the Covens formations. I'm a HUGE fan of the Scalpel Squadron. And Reavers, Reavers, Reavers. Ally in a Jetbike Farseer and a squad of three Eldar Jetbikes for Psychic support on the Reavers, specifically Invisibility, and an Obj Sec bike unit, and you can build an amazingly hard hitting and very fast force with Raiders and Venoms. Ravagers I'm meh about because of how weak they are and three guns on a ship that can only shoot two at BS is kinda... Meh. But Scourges. Those are a brilliant vehicle assassination team.
