Keep Calm and WAAAGH!!!

Da Hinkel is starting a Video Blog for the SMG blog that I will put out Bi-weekly. I do a lot of 40k talk and hobby stuff but but I sucks at writing...so this will be easier for me to get more content out to you all. Might even do some video blogs when my friends come over, LOL.

The series will be called Da Hinkel's Hut - a SMG Wargaming Series.

DA HINKEL'S HUT: Episode 2 -How to make a Custom Ork Void Shield Generator - A SMG Wargaming Series - Warhammer 40k

Custom Ork Void Shield Generator

http://southmsgamers.blogspot.com/2014/11/how-to-make-custom-ork-void-shield.html

So after just not wanting to buy an OOP void shield generator, I decided to just build one. So I called up one of my buddies who owned one of these bad boyz and got the dimensions. The bottom is a bastion tower and the void shield is about the same height as one as well. So I will try to break down on how I did this the best I can, but if you have any questions please let me know. I will also have all the links to were I got everything. Enjoy and "Keep Calm and WAAAGH!!!"

FYI - There is a Video at the end also showing what I did.

Thinks you will need:

Battery /USB Plasma Ball -http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009CXF4J8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

IMPERIAL BASTION - FIRST FLOOR WALLS -

ORK STOMPA - 19x FACES and ICONS -

Popsicle sticks from any hobby store

The skulls I got from walmart in the halloween section

Prime white the areas I planned on painting yellow
Then Spray Army Painters Daemonic Yellow over the white once dry
Prime black the bastion Tower metal pieces
Spray Army painter plate metal on the black areas once dry
Rough cut up and glue Popsicle sticks to the top of the bastion tower as shown in the pics
Wash the wood areas with Army Painter Strong tone
Wash Metal and yellow areas with Citadel Seraphim Sepia
I painted the Plasma ball black area with a Walmart brand - Apple Barrel - 21482 Bimini Blue
Popsicle sticks around the Plasma ball were done in Citadel Moot Green
Citadel Troll Slayer Orange was used in random areas
Apple Barrel - 21482 Bimini Blue was used in random areas.
4x AAA Batteries

Here I added Citadel Seraphim Sepia to the metal and yellow areas and Army Painter strong tone wash to the wood areas.

Here I took Popsicle sticks and just broke them around the plasma ball to give a rough look and painted them moot green. I painted the Plasma ball black area with a Walmart brand - Apple Barrel - 21482 Bimini Blue

Da Hinkel's Hut - an SMG article: Ork Deffkopta to Warbuggy Conversion

http://southmsgamers.blogspot.com/2015/02/da-hinkels-hut-smg-article-ork.html

Here is an idea that I found about how to make Warbuggies out of my Deffkoptas.

I got this idea from Bad Monkey Gaming

http://www.baddonkeygaming.com/2011/01/deffkopta-to-buggy.html

Lego Parts Required:
Plate, Modified 1 x 2 with Handle on Side - Type 1 (free ends) (Part #: 2540) x1
Plate, Modified 2 x 2 with Wheels Holder (Part #: 4600) x2
Tile, Modified 1 x 2 Grille without Bottom Groove / Lip (Part#: 2412a) x1
Wheel 11.5mm D. x 12mm, hole notched for wheels holder pin, with Black Tire Offset Tread Small Wide (6014b / 6015) (Part #: 6014bc01) x4
Lego Parts Optional (helpful for keeping tires square and in alignment):
Plate 2 x 12 (Part #: 2445) x1
Brick 2 x 2 (Part #: 3003) x2
Please post if you have any questions but the pictures and description should help.

Once you cut the deffkoptas up, use the alignment legos.
Plate 2 x 12 (Part #: 2445) x1
Brick 2 x 2 (Part #: 3003) x2
Use a little green stuff and super glue to help align the legos on the bottom to set the:
Plate, Modified 2 x 2 with Wheels Holder (Part #: 4600) x2
Let the green stuff set for 24 hours.

Then I used the paint that I normal use for my Ork army, Army Painter plate metal, and paint over the entire model.

Then paint the ork flesh areas white first and then Army Painter daemonic yellow.

Add colors were you want.

Last, but not least, make sure you put the wheels on to make them easier to paint.

I hope you enjoy this, I have got several complements about this at tournaments.

Have fun and keep the WAAAGH!!!!!!!!!!!! growing.

DA HINKEL'S HUT: Episode 3 - Making a Kromlech Orc War Chief - A SMG Wargaming Series - Warhammer 40k

In this episode I magnetized and painted the new Kromlech Orc War Chief.

This will be used as my Ork Mega Armored Warboss.

It looks amazing and Kromlech does a great job making their models.
