Hey guys,

I usually run a list that is a mix between speed freaks and kan wall. Truth be told I never have much luck with it. Probably because it's not as focused as it should be.
Soo in light of my recent losses I have decided to make a pure speed freak list, here goes:

HQ-
Big Mek (Mega Armor w/ KFF)

Troops-
11 shoota boyz w/ PK nob in a Truck
11 slugga boyz w/ PK nob in a Truck
11 slugga boyz w/ PK nob in a Truck

Fast Attack-
Deffkopta w/ Rokkit
Deffkopta w/ Rokkit
6 Warbikers w/ Big Choppa nob

Heavy Support-
Battlewagon w/ 2x Big Shoota, 2x Rokkit Launcher, Kannon
9 Lootas

My plan is to put my HQ and Lootas in the Battlewagon and have them lead the charge.

All feedback is welcome! Thanks

Here's what I've got to say about every single Ork list I've ever seen, a piece of advice that should help you win a lot more:

MOAR TRUKKZ !

See, at 1000 points you could easily have 6x10boyz+Trukk, and then moar, so why play with less ?

I personally think having a PK nob with boyz is a waste, you end up suffering more from mob rule for a PK where you probably don't need it, whereas dedicated fast PK seem a lot better to me.

Of course I don't play Ork, and if I did I would field unbound TrukkSpam because that's what Orkz are to me.

Great! Thanks for the input. I thought 3 trucks might be a bit lite. I wonder if scrapping the bikers for more boyz is a good move....?

I like the Lootas in the BW idea. But honestly, your BW with the MA Big Mek + KFF + Lootas is a big fat target and a points sink. It will draw 100% of your opponent's firepower on turn 1. If that thing gets wrecked, you're out a lot of points, and your MA Big Mek has to walk. Maybe just put the Lootas in the BW, and drop some of the extras, and use those points elsewhere. Spread the threat around, and force your opponent to make tough decisions about what to take out. Then swoop in with the rest.

Another thing to remember is that the KFF is very different in 7th edition now. When embarked in a vehicle, the KFF only protects the vehicle he's riding in. No more KFF bubble to protect your trukks. Oh yeah, and exploding trukks cause S4 wounds now.

A KFF Big Mek or even better a Warboss on a bike is viable, if that's an option for you. 4+ save, Toughness +1, TL guns, Jink, and fast. Not too shabby. How about a Painboy either with one of the Boyz units, or on a bike? Stick your Big Mek, or Warboss in a unit of 10+ Warbikers + a Painboy on a bike, and you've got a very fast, tough unit with plenty of TL dakka!

What models do you have available?

Thats good advice. I'll strip down the wagon and just put the Lootas in it.

I recently stuck a painboy on a bike. So I can run that with my bikers.

As far as what speedy units I have to work with:
6 bikers
A warboss but not on a bike (I could always make one....).
3 trucks.
1 more deffkopta
1 Dakkajet, would that be worth trying to squeeze in?

Regarding tactic:
Should I have the trucks spread out when they advance or should everything follow behind the Battlewagon?

Thanks for the help!

I would keep your battlewagon as is, just scrap the cannon and the weapons. Yes it is a point sink as people point out, but what they are forgetting is that you have 3 paper skinned trukks loaded with boyz running up the field. I would rather my opponent spend a turn shooting at my battlewagon then killing my trukks.

What I would do if I were you would be put your battlewagon on one flank or near the center and the 3 trukks near by but not close enough to get hit by any scatter. Place your bikers infront of your trukks in a long line. furthermore attach your painboy on bike to that bikers to give them that 5+ FNP. Turn one turboboost the bikers and go flat out with the trukks directly behind them. Bikers get a 3+ Jink and a 5+ FNP and the trukks behind get a 5+ cover save for intervening models. Move the battlewagon 12 or flat out your choice, and put it in a position to either get directly in front of hte enemies deadly High Str weapons or in a position to intervene between your trukks and enemy infantry which might try to get lucky. Basically, to hell with the BW it really doesn't matter, its the boyz assaulting on turn 2-3 that matter and will win you that battle.

I come in peace. I didn't bring artillery. But I'm pleading with you, with tears in my eyes: If you mess with me, I'll kill you all

Thanks Ghazkuul, that's very helpful advice! I will definitely apply this strategy to my next game.

Should I bring a Warboss on a bike or leave a Big Mek w/ KFF in the Battlewagon? I do see Cleatus' point about the KFF being a bit of a waste in the Battlewagon with 7th edition. Any thoughts on that?

Ghazhuul has several good points! Strip down the Battlewagon, and use your Trukks to obscure the BW. Max out your Warbikers, and yes stick the Painboy with them on a bike. (Nice conversion btw!)

As for the Warboss vs Big Mek... The Big Mek will help a unit to get across the board, but the Warboss is a CC beast. Personally, I like the Warboss on a bike.

Other tactical thoughts: Take the free rokkit upgrades on your Trukks and Deffkoptas (moar Str 8!). Use your Deffkoptas to eat Overwatch so more of your Boyz can get stuck in. Consider taking Da Finkin' Kap for a chance to roll for on the Strategic table for Infiltrate. Since it looks like you're taking a CAD, you can re-roll if you don't get the traits you want. Imagine the look on your opponent's face when you drop 3 Trukks full of Boyz 12-18" from their units on turn 1! Note you can't charge in the Assault phase on turn 1 if you Infiltrate, but it sets you up for a nice turn 2 charge.

Try it out, let us know how it goes!

Excellent thanks Cleatus! (Thank you regarding the Painboy conversion)

I think I will take the Warboss on a bike. Seems like a proper fit.

Thanks again for the advice!
