Been messing around with this in my head for awhile and I think it would be blast to play. I'm a sucker for the disco court and I love flying croissants. What do you guys think? Does the Veil transport the Ark with them or just the unit inside the Ark?

1. Load up the royal court into the spare ghost ark and send them where they must go. Remember to use the Solar Staff.

2a. The royal court is near enough something to assault out of the Ghost Ark, do that with your many War Scythes and remember to shoot many flamers, your Ark broadside, and pew pew staff.

2b. If the Ark gets destroyed, Ghostmantle to a good spot.

3. If they get into a fight they don't want to be near, Veil.

What are the four warriors you keep mentioning of? You have a unit of 14 and a unit of 10.

I'm assuming that once I start the 10/14 Necrons onto the Ghost Ark, the remaining 4 can embark onto the other ark with the Royal Court + HQ.

You're assuming wrong. You can't split a unit between multiple transports, nor can a unit be half on, half off a transport.

Welp...I'm wrong then. In that case, I'll cut the 4 additional warriors (since there's little point in foot slogging them), and pump some more points into the court embarking onto the FA slot Ghost Ark.

I think the biggest issue with the new Royal Courts is that they ended the argument on whether they give a VP/KP or not. While I do like the idea of running a Disco Court, it's just going to really hurt you in Scenarios where that scoring is valid. I've stopped using them for that reason right now. Having a Cryptek/Lord in my blocks of Warriors is great, but knowing each squad is now worth 2 or 3 VPs gives my opponent an edge.

I don't have my dex on me, but if you don't want to buy that FA GA, you should be able to just load them into an empty one that you bought with the Warriors, you just can't start them in it. I'll check when I get home, but someone will probably be able to beat me to it.

I'd have to check to see if you can start them outside their dedicated transport, I'm not sure either. If so, I'd park them on an objective in cover. That'd free up 105 points for whatever; 5 tomb blades, another lord w/ scythe and gauntlet, a cryptek for the warrior blob, etc.

I hear you about VP/KP, that's rough. I tend to play more casual and campaign games. If my opponent somehow manages to chew through the ghost ark and a gajillion save rerolls and rerollable RP then good for him, I will give him a high five and buy him a beer at the end of the game.

I checked. So the setup would be:
10 Warriors in GA.
Warriors on ground outside of GA, I recommend 15+
Disco Court next to Empty GA to load up on T1.

Keep in mind that you only need to do this if you don't have a free FA slot in a CAD, or you're running one of the Formations.

As for the VP, he would only have to kill 1 model in that unit to get First Blood. Yes, it's difficult, but not that hard anymore with Flamers able to hit stuff inside the GA.
