G'Day guys,
I'm Scott, and I am a 40K and Fantasy player from Australia.
I've been playing 40K since the start of 5th edition and I mainly play Space Marines with my own chapter, called the 'Champions of Salvation' which I have got around 7000 to 8000 points of. I also have around 2000 points of Dark Angels, 1250 points of Tau, 1250 points of Orks and smaller forces of Grey Knights and Chaos Space Marines. I'm a relatively competitive gamer and I'm just starting to get into the Australia tournament scene.
As far as Fantasy goes, I've been playing since the start of 8th edition and I've been playing High Elves which I have got around 6000 to 6500 points of them.
I am also one of the hosts on an Australian Warhammer 40K Podcast, called 'The 2nd Wave Podcast'. We talk about all manner of things 40K from our Aussie perspectives, we do Codex and Supplement reviews, Army Lists, talk about 40K New and Rumours and a whole host of other topics to do with the hobby.
I enjoy participating in the gaming community whether it is here is Australia or anywhere else in the world and I'm active on quite a few forums as well.
Scott.

G'day mate and welcome!
If you don't mind I have one question. I'm going to go to Australia at the end of this year for a while. I'd really like to use this chance to get familiar with your gaming community.
Can you give me a direction where to start looking? Particularly in Sydney.
Thanks a lot.

Thanks Gatherer. Sure, I'm more than happy to answer your question.
To start off with if you're coming in late December, I would recommend looking at entering the 40K Competitive event at a convention called 'Cancon' which is on the Australia Day long weekend in late January in Canberra.
For particularly in Sydney however I'm not that equipped to answer as I'm located down in Canberra at this stage, I know there is a strong tournament scene up there and it's particularly competitive. I'll be able to tell you more in a couple of months time as a friend of mine is moving up there for uni and is a competitive 40K player. But in saying that the best place to start looking is on the Australian Wargaming forums, called WargamerAU. I would recommend check it out for a variety of events that are held not just in Sydney but across Australia. Hopefully that helps you out and if you want any further info in the future, just let me know
