Lhamaean for cheap HQ, Arena Champion for Warlord Traits. Thoughts? I'm tempted to Solarites for an additional Haywire shot (Grenade)..

I don't think the lamean can be a warlord. I think that they are part of the archon court and have no "slot"

Well you can use it as a warlord, but you won't fall under the cad rules

I'm more of a Gunboat kind of guy but I've had amazing luck with them knocking Flying Monstrous Creatures out of the sky for other units to systematically slaughter. A Raider with Splinter Racks, Night Shields and to be honest, an Archon to give a Leadership buff when the Raider takes a hit. But, the Archon would be too expensive to work in to this one. Still, apart from the Gunboat, this list is pretty spot on for a good low point Dark Eldar list. Or better yet, an allied section to a Craftworld army (hint hint).

Court of the Archon can now be taken as an HQ choice, which is very, very nice. If you take an Archon, a Court doesn't register on the FOC.

Other than that, the list looks pretty spot on. 750 won't see much in the way of vehicles, though, at least in my meta, not sure about yours, though.

Nothing in the rules says it can't be. It just wouldn't get the Warlord Traits but for al other purposes, counts as a Warlord (StW, Objectives and such).
Partly why I have an Arena Champion, specifically for Traits

Anyhoo thanks guys. I was unsure about the third Venom, so I might change them into gunboats and try and find points for a Razorwing if I do come up against Flyers.

Be careful, there's a difference between a HQ choice [the 1 mandatory, 1 optional slots in a CAD FOC], and your army's Warlord [one model in your army that you nominate. It must be a character unless otherwise allowed].

A Lhamaean is a legitimate choice to fill your HQ choice. There aren't any special rules about HQ choices.

However, it's not a character. If you have another character, such as that Arena Champion, you must choose one of them. It gains the warlord trait, and is the objective of 'Slay the Warlord', etc.

It's only if you have no characters [or have something that allows you to chose otherwise, such as Supplement: Iyanden], that you may choose a non-character model for your warlord. It's only in that case that you don't get warlord trait.

Considering the opening post says that the Arena Champion is the Warlord... What's the malfunction?

How much armour you thinking of facing at 750 pts? Do you need that many haywire shots?
