So, playing in a 2500 team tourney this Saturday with a pal of mine who is running Mechanized IG. As the ork player, it fell to me to look scary, so that he can sneak by. Ive broken things into how they will be deployed, rather than by CAD stuff. It makes more sense that way.
Big Mek w/Bike, KFF, PK, BP 7 Bikers + Nob
Warboss w/MA, DLS, BP 18 Choppa Boys + Nob w/BC Battlewagon w/Ram, BS
3 Gunwagons in a squad (13/12/10 OT transport w/TLBS)
9 shoota boys +Nob w/BP, BC 9 Shoota boys + Nob w/BP, BC 8 Nobs w/ PK, BC x 2 + Painboy w/BP
Our theme is to be the ones pushing rather than getting pushed. The gunwagon group is deployed with the Nobz between and behind the other two wagons full of boys, to take advantage of their rules as a unit of transports. Nobs are for hunting MEQ and anything that wont insta-kill them in melee, Warboss looks for things to bully, and KFF mek runs around giving somebody his 5++ and swinging his PK at stuffs
Thoughts? Im open to changes, but I want to still keep my units somewhat tough, and I need to be mobile. Everything else is negotiable.

I would love to make comments but I am not familiar with Forgeworld stuff so im a bit out of depth here. I am just concerned with the few models your going to be fielding for an ork player with 1250 points. you might want to find a better use for those points you sank into tankbustas. its been my experience that 5 don't do a lot, you need 10 or so to really make sure of the kill.

With no knowledge about the Guard army it's sorta hard to give advice. MechGuard, blob guard?
Anyhoo, I would really recommend replacing all the Nobz with Meganobz. I would also remove the Shootas from the Boyz - as it stands I think you've sunk a lot into toyz and not boyz.
I would also get more Warbikers so you can get the most out of that painboy.
With that in mind, I've made this list - note there are no FW units as I'm not particularly knowledgeable on them (which is why I chose a Warboss over Zhadsnark. Dat WAAAGH though!)
Spoiler:
CAD
HQ Warboss w/ Da Lucky Stikk, Warbike, Power Klaw, Boss Pole
=140
Painboy w/ Warbike (wouldn't recommend Boss Pole here, since if you lose your Pole you lose your FnP).
=75
Troops 11 Boyz w/ Boss Nob w/ Power Klaw, Boss Pole
-Trukk w/ Reinforced Ram, Rokkit Launcha (prefer Rokkits over Big Shoota)
=147
11 Boyz w/ Boss Nob w/ Power Klaw, Boss Pole
-Trukk w/ Reinforced Ram, Rokkit Launcha
=147
Elites 3 Mega Armoured Nobz w/ Boss Pole
-Trukk w/ Reinforced Ram, Rokkit Launcha
=160
3 Mega Armoured Nobz w/ Boss Pole
-Trukk w/ Reinforced Ram, Rokkit Launcha
=160
Fast Attack 11 Warbikers w/ Boss Nob w/ Boss Pole, Power Klaw
With this list you've got 14 Bikes to take advantage of FnP, as well as hard hitting MANz missiles (S9 on the charge). You're fast with 5 Trukks (including a Rokkitmobile with Tankbustas) and the Warbikes and can get up right close in the opponents face and really forced your opponent to deal with you, letting your Guard (ahem AM) player do his sneaky things.
The way I play doubles is one defender one aggressor. I play Orcs and am usually paired with Sisters, BA or Necron for my partner.
Usually the defender builds a list to hold our side of the table, the aggressor rushes and causes distractions. It's worked well so far.
Using that model, if you're defense, huge blobs would be great some lootas, couple mek guns too so in the back fields you don't get too bored... But mostly just huge boyz mobs hard to shoot off points.
If you're the aggressor, bikes, stormboys, trukk boys, foot slogging blobs, 3man meganob units in vehicles, in really any combination. Heck even that 100 man great horde would be fine. You're a distraction and final blow to their units holding objectives.
As guard defense, a few tanks and a huge blob of guys would be great.
Hmmm. Okay, okay. I see what you guys mean. My two counterpoints right now for the trukk/MANZ list is that in the meta where I play, trukks are garbage. I've brought them to doubles tourneys before, and without fail I get mulched. Sure, if I get first turn Ill do alright, but meh. The same with MANZ; nobody sees them up here much, so when they pop up everyone immediately sends their killiest thing after them to wreck house on me.
I altered my list a bit, I'll edit the above to reflect that.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Also: Zhadsnark is just like a warboss on a bike, but he has a PK that swings at I4, has skilled rider, and can tank shock(worthless).

yes yes, i would go with meganobz thats a lot of points to be going into a nob squad, but if you think it will get in more than if you take 6 squads of 3 manz for that price, then its all cool and if trucks are garbage (and they are everywhere) then shove them in some more gun wagons
but yes, awesome sauce gun wagons i love
and i love the idea of the KFF giving support to the vehicles, nice list

I might be able to afford 6 MANZ for the cost of that squad, but I think for what I want to use them for the nobs will be better. My PK isnt on a character, so it cant be challenged out, and things like power axes and war scythes wont dice me right up. Sure, I might not be able to toe-to-toe with comething super crazy, but MANZ cant either. Walkers will double me out, but theyd do so to manz as well. With 9 bodies, I can survive their swings at least one round.
Thought: What about replacing the Nobz with 3-4 MANZ, keep the painboy, and still save like 30 points?
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh yeah, the KFF mek thing is definitely non negotiable. Turn one, keeps my cute gak from getting popped. Then, it spends the rest of the game lurking around my IG partner's tanks and such, lending them a save and acting as a charge deterrent.

Looks much better already. I prefer small groups of megas to normal nobs. You're choosing who they attack generally and with only 3 you're hoping to not kill them on your assault so you can't be shot in tower turn then clean up during their assault phase. But that's just me. And I'd have the WB with them with the lucky stick. The +1ws and him bouncing wounds off like they're nothing it's fun. Just be careful picking targets. Chose wisely.
It's cool if they fail, i actually pushed a Tau Riptide off and into ongoing reserves one the last turn with it. But now, he is stopped if they wound him, and he has only 6+ armor. It's cute, but meh. And then he can't assault, i believe. I'd rather just assault.
In case anybody still cares, here is our final list setup:
ORKS!
Warboss with MA, DLS, BP 17 Choppa boys + Nob w/BC Battle Wagon w/Ram, Big shoota
7 Nobs w/Pk x 2, BC x 2 + Painboy w/BP 9 Shoota Boys +Nob w/BC, BP 2 Gunwagons w/rams, TLBS (squadron)
9 Shoota Boys + Nob w/BC, BP Mekboy Junka w/Ram, Skorcha x 2, BS
IMPERIAL GUARD
Veterans with Melta x 2, Rocket Launcher w/Flakk
Taurox
As Above
As Above
Pask Vanquisher w/lascannon
Executioner w/Lascannon, two multi meltas
Executioner w/lascannon, 2 multi meltas
Demolisher
We didnt win the tourney (lost our first game by 2 due to opposition taking long turns and running out of time) but we were the highest scoring team there, with a net point total of +17. Nearest competitor was +12.
If your opponent is taking long turns make sure you remind them to hurry the F*CK up! especially in a tournament setting. I got yelled at in a friendly game last week because I brought so much orky goodness to the table it took a bit of time to bringem all on and move/shoot/assault :-P in the end we found ways to hurry it up but still never be afraid to ask

Oh yeah, I'm usually pretty good about that sorta stuff. We still did super well in the tourney.
On a note: the nob unit was spectacular. Solo'd a knight, krumped through bunches of boyz. Pushed a lot of SM guys off objectives. Got to watch an opponent almost weep when the warboss blob chewed through 20 Of the 30k Legion Mahreens, plus an apothecary and HQ guy. Rawr!
