Howdy!
I'm planning to grab my savings and to visit a shop, as my army screams for being finished at least for 1500 pts. However, I got little idea what to buy.
Here is my ordinary list:
HQ:
Grotsnik
MA Boss w/ DLS & BP
Elite:
4 MANz including 1 pair of Killsaws and a DT Wagon w/ Ram & Rokkit
Troops:
2x12 Boys in Trukks (slugga ones, w/ PK & BP Nobz)
18 shootaboys including barebones Nob and a BSh boy
Heavy:
11 Lootas
Wagon w/ Ram & Rokkit
1287 pts in total.
Hey, I can't decide what will be of the best use here. I was advised to take bikers, but only 10 of them can be taken in my case. And I'm not really a fan of them.
So, if you were me, what would you take for the best support?

I see you're running a mech list. Tankbustas will be great.
Also, you can take a look at forgeworld vehicles like Gun wagon and Big Trakk - they're very effective.
I'd also consider putting a second pair of Killsaws on meganobz. To ensure you're downing something like an IK in one go.

Thanks for advice! But I now have new questions.
What loadout should tankbustas be like? As I understand, 5-7 in a trukk?
I was also thinking about Guntrukks and other similar ones. Alas, items from dredmob seem to be prohibited to use outside the dredmob itself.

it's generally:
5-7 in a truck
15 in a wagon
10 in a big trakk/gun wagon.
Also, note that trakks and gun wagons can be squadronned.
Be careful with tankbustas, though. They'll quickly cause thoughts like: "Why am i even bothering with lootas?.."
Oh, and you can't go wrong with mek gunz. They can find a place in any list. And they'll fill multiple roles - tough scoring - both for backfield and midfield when needed, bauble wrap and effective cheap longranged support. Personally, i always field lobbas and kmk.
Retail big gunz are stupid expensive. Maybe cause GW knew everyone would scratch build them anywayz

personally i take them with a squad of 15 with nob boss pole and 3 bomb squigs in a battlewagon with 2 rokkits to prevent weapon destroyed results becoming immobilized results and a ram. the bustas can pop a vehicle a turn and as they are in a wagon, the wagon is valuable until it dies, where as usually if it is dropping off a payload of nobz or whatever, the wagon is then useless as it has done its job. The wagon in the tankbustas case is valuable the whole game for as long as it survives.
it makes them more survivable and less easy to kill IMO
although, if you put some in a gun wagon instead, then their protection is almost as good as a battlewagon with 1 less front armor and 1 less hull point for only 60 points. could be worth having some in those vehicles

You are really tempting me to use forgeworld, but is it allowed to mix forgeworld vehicles and codex ones in a single detachment?

Of course!
They simply take up the listed slot in your detachment.

Good luck boss!!
just keep in mind that they cost a heavy support slot, not dedicated transport or fast attack or anything. Heavy support. so you may need to take another CAD. But also, you can take them in squadrons so you could have 3 transports in the same unit and keep your valuable stuff in the back vehicles as the one in front will be hit first.

Thank you! Luckily, 1 HS slot is empty, so a squadron should fit there perfectly. May even sit sluggaboys in some of these trukks, though it sounds dangerous.

Well that isnt SUCH a bad idea. then you can put the boyz in the wagon at the front and they will be taken out first, giving your tank bustas more time to shoot stuff! assuming that is that you think your opponent will want to kill the tank bustas first! but if you think they will want to kill the boyz and they have no vehicles you need popping, then just shove the wagons with the tank bustas forward instead to protect the boyz
