A renegade list can be built to have an excessive amount of ranged firepower for cheap. I've found it difficult whilst creating lists recently to take the list upto 2000pts and keep it optimal, after filling all 6 heavy slots (2 CAD). However there are more than enough points to include a decently upgraded Void relay network.
Now I think this benefits renegades for multiple reasons:
-You have plenty of points left over after filling HS slots.
-Renegade Artillery may not be fragile but their heavy weapons teams are. 3-9 av12 shields will help them immeasurably, as well as adding insane durability to artillery platforms.
-For every 5 men you can take a flamer. So a 40pt squad will put out 2 torrent flamer shots when next to a promethian relay pipe.
-You get 7 sections of promethian relay pipes for 40pts and the only restriction on their deployment is that they have to be connnected to 1 other piece. So you can spread them out in 3 different places. For 240pts (including pipes) you can have 5 squads of 10 with 2 flamers each to give you 10 defensive torrent templates.
-No need for militia training on the infantry.

So thinking of a list such as the following (Dual CAD):

Arch demagogue with cov of tzeentch and mutant overlord (in bunker)

4 disciples with autocannon and granade launcher

Arch demagogue with cov of tzeentch (either with 2nd lascannon team or autocannon team depending on opponent).

4 disciples with autocannon and granade launcher

3 spawn

3 spawn

3 spawn

3 spawn

10 mutants

10 mutants

Renegade platoon
11 renegades with 2 flamers and krak granades
Chimera with multilaser and heavy flamer

10 renegades with 2 flamers and krak granades
Chimera with mulitlaser and heavy flamer

10 renegades with 2 flamers and krak granades
Chimera with multilaser and heavy flamer

Renegade Platoon
10 renegades with 2 flamers

10 renegades with 2 flamers

10 renegades with 2 flamers

10 renegades with 2 flamers

10 renegades with 2 flamers

2 earthshaker cannons

3 rapier laser destroyers with militia training

3 rapier laser destroyers with militia training

6 lascannon teams with militia training (in bunker)

6 lascannon teams with militia training

6 autocannon teams with militia training

Bunker with ammodump and quad cannon

Void relay network
Void generator with 3 shields

Void generator with 3 shields

Promethian relay pipes

1998pts

Mobility provided by the spawn and chimera units. Anti tank provided by the HS slots and disciples. AA provided by cov tzeentch and ammo dump on 2 of the heavy weapons teams + quad cannon. Anti troop provided by 16 flamers (at least 10 torrent), 3 heavy flamers and the spawn. 14 units to act as cheap roadblocks if needed. If the opponent sits back then I hope to outshoot them and pin them with spawn and chimera units, whilst advancing with the foot renegades and mutants. If the opponent comes to me/ the centre/deepstrikes etc, even termis will fear 10 torrent flamer templates, before being bogged down by the riff raff.

This is just an example, but looking at it I really think the void relay network massively benefits renegades! What's your thoughts?

Oh and that's 17 OS units.
