Subject: Explain Imperial Fists in HH forgeworld books 1-3 please?

I was wondering why imperial fist and word bearers are in the Horus Heresy Forgeworld books 1-3. I know Erebus was around when Istvann was going on but Imperial Fist weren't in the area?
What's the reason their rules and models are out now but Blood Angels and Ultramarines aren't yet?

In fact almost the entire Word bearers legion was present at Isstvan V, not only Erebus.
And one third of the IF legion was supposed to go there with the other 7 legions, but they were stuck by a warp storm in the Phall system and they were attacked soon after the Massacre by the IW.
As regards Dorn&Sigismund, Alan Bligh comically stated at the Weekender that "the only reason they were included in Extermination is because we didn't want to be lynched!"

Book one is Istvaan 3, so sons of Horus, World Eaters, Emperors Children and Death Guard. Books 2+3 are Istvaan 5, so the other 7 legions that were there, including the Word Bearers; that's thy they're there, and book 3 also has the Battle of Phall so that's why IF are there.
Ultramarines are the next book, and dunno about BA yet. If anyone can complain it's Thousand Sons and Space Wolves, they're gonna be book 7 now, it was meant to be 4 originally I think, and Prospero was actually the first event chronologically. But it is what it is, don't worry they'll get to you. I'm really looking forward to the WS and they'll probably be last.

No, Calth was later. Word Bearers, Alpha Legion, Night Lords and Iron Warriors were the legions who revealed they were traitors at Istvaan V.

Oh ok, I thought that on "Know no fear", Lorgar tells Gilliman that as they speak the treachery is underway

Yeah it is, because Istvaan V has already happened, so the treachery is underway have you read First Heretic? It has a bit about Istvaan V at the end.
