I've recently begun collecting Chaos Space Marines, and have decided to field a nurgle army. There is one slight issue. My previous army was a huge warband of orks, and I think that if I have to paint green again, I will go clinically insane. I also don't want to have to paint huge swathes of bone because I'd prefer a darker look to my army. I was thinking about doing some greenstuff work and making the marines' armour look like it has all sorts of fungi and molds on it, so some guys might end up looking like a bloater from The Last of Us. The fungus'll be all sorts of colours, but mostly orange and pink. What colour shall I do the rest of the armour though?

Try blue maybe? With orange and pink as the other colours it is going to be very to find a third colour without it looking like an explosion in a paint shop.

One of my all-time favourte Chaos schemes is a Warband featured in the 4th Edition codex called 'The Cleaved'. They had grimy off-white armour which then had slime oozing from the pores and seams.

Using that as a base to work from will draw attention to your detailing, without overpowering it or distracting the eye.
