I was just wondering if any of you folk out there have the same obsession I have. I love to keep any book I have... especially army books on the most pristine condition. To the point where I really go out my way to do so. If it's a crumpled page, to a scuff it really bugs me.

I let my English bull terrier pup out for him to do his business, in which he came back in very pleased with himself. Was having a mad half an hour...jumped around. So I continue with cooking dinner for me and my wife. Suddenly I realised that the dog had gone extremely quiet. I sprinted in the living room to see what he was doing... and you guessed it. Had his chops on the corner of my book. A momentary lapse in sense and I'd put the book in his reach. I now have a tiny tear the size of half a grain of rice at the very top of my book, only noticeable from a birds eye view. And two extremely tiny teeth marks just above 'the empire'.

I've actually considered buying a new book the OCD kicked in that hard.... do any of you out there share the same obsession? And if so any gut wrenching stories

My OCD isn't too the extents of yours, I believe, but yes, I greatly prefer my books (even when they were softcovers) be in as good condition as possible. I once spilled some water on the mini rulebook and it bugged me how some pages were warped. But I chose to accept it. But w/ the hardcover Army Books, I definitely try to keep those as nice as possible. They're high-quality products and cost a pretty penny, after all!

I hate to be 'that guy,' but this is just something to be mindful of. While I agree that it sucks to have your books trashed, it's probably better if you don't throw the term 'OCD' around. It marginalizes a pretty serious disorder that makes life hell for a lot of people. It's not as simple as liking things to be all 'neat and tidy.' You can find out more about it here: if you like.
