The models are beautifully painted.
The unfinished bases really stand out in contrast. Once you finish the bases, the entire force will look awesome.

That's one of the most glowy armies I have seen.
I agree with the previous poster, needs basing done, but otherwise excellent. I love those little scarab guys.

Thanks for the comments.
I was going for Maynarkh Dynasty colors but it ended up looking slightly like Matrix Sentinel Squiddies, which isn't a bad thing I guess.
On basing, yeah I was originally thinking of doing desert tan and sand but do you think that will detract from the current contrast? Or should I stick to something like dark grey stone?

Go with a dark basing color IMO

Magma basing would look pretty cool, actually. The dark volcanic rock and the glowing lava would contrast nicely, but subtly

The models are dark and glowing red, how is lava a contrast? Lava bases would bury the models in a sea of illegiblity.
I think dark bases with a blue/green cast to them would be ideal - kinda like they're advancing under the cover of darkness. That also ties into the Maynarkh fluff.

Perhaps contrast wasn't the right word. But in the same way that snowy bases fit with winter themed armies, I think volcanic bases would fit this army nicely. Just my opinion.

How did you get the lighting effects? I'm relatively new to painting 40k so still a learning process

Airbrush Khorne Red over a larger area.
Airbrush Firedragon Orange over a smaller area.
Dab Yriel Yellow over the center.
Wash everything above with Carrodsburg Crimson.
